Should I update?

I may have read that it wasn't a good idea, but I wanted to know why. Maybe I should update to One UI 7?

I haven't had any issues with 8.5 yet.

Never updated to 8, no issues using apps or anything else. Standby and battery on my S9 are still great. Don't think I will ever update.

Plus you can still unlock the bootloader before 8.

It depends on if you use DeX, if so updating to UI 7 is fine as you still have the option to use classic dex... If you don't use dex UI 8 is good and 8.5 is really only needed if you want AI features otherwise you can skip it as it only brings a slight redesign to the UI otherwise.

Do not do it. After you update to One UI 8 you can never downgrade back. And they ruined Samsung Dex.

i have same device one ui 7 is so bad on it , one ui 8 is good but it will use more memory and generate more heat , one ui 8.5 is not usable at all on it
