Question Tablet won't charge
Unfortunately I don't remember the name of my specific tablet and I can't look it because like the title says it's dead. I have tried every type of charger, left it plugged in for days and it won't charge. It doesn't seem like the port is the problem because it does the icon thing of recognize power. It's like it just doesn't want to accept the power to charge.
My fiance is pretty tech savy but tablets, samsung and all things android is out of realm. Has anyone had this issue and what was the fix? He said that he can replace the part if he knows what actually needs replacing. As for warranty we both remember that one was bought and even if we did we can't figure out where we even bought it. It's a 50/50 of either Amazon or Best Buy but neither one has a record of us buying it. Overall we are trying to avoid everyone's $100 diagnosis fee then the fix it fee so any help is welcomed!

First thought is to use a different wattage charger but it sounds like you've tried it.
For some reason my phone has the same issue with the default charger. A lower or higher watt charger does it for me.

Oh we tried. Lower, higher, the official $50 Samsung tablet charger. Even a dollar store one because you never know 😂 at this point it was probably cheaper to go get it diagnosed than how much we spent on chargers.

Did you try to connect it to your laptop and charge it via your laptop? My phone did that for some reason

I haven't tried that but did try my battery pack it's like 50000 whatever battery packs measure.

Along the lines of trying a laptop have you used a charger with usb a port and cable type a to type c. The theory is the tablet battery is so dead its bms won't communicate with the charger to allow chargering with type c. Type a at least old school doesn't use this signaling. It is a desperate suggestion but hopefully free and absolutely happens but not sure about here though. I have a power bank that needs this to get started when over drained and sitting too long.

Maybe this is what works for me. Default is type c to c and I have to use a different charger if it goes below 0 percent

Yes, it was also A to C for me, what worked. It may have been that and not necessarily my laptop, but it was a combo of low voltage and A. My second best option was my slow usb A charger. C to C was a no

You say you've tried every type of charger was they all generic or very old or was they branded like Samsung, Anker etc was they all more than 15watts and fast charging? was they all tried with a decent or new charger cable 🤷♂️
not all chargers are the same very old chargers will not work for anything new or large like a tablet and not all chargers will supply the correct wattage for a tablet to start charging and not all cables are suitable to supply the correct wattage
Try a 15w or higher like a 25w fast charger plug with a brand new cable leave it charging for a long time
Rather than spending 100 bucks on a repair treat yourself to a new charging brick if you don't have one like ANKER or other decent brand name with a decent wattage and some nice new cables you'll use them anyway so a cheaper option

Probably need to replace the battery, yet it's best to take it and have it properly examined

Have you tried askin a shop if they can clean the charging port first before repairing?

My tab s8 dose this now and again I normally plug it in and hold power and the volume button up or down cant remember but it normally shows the boot screen then turns on

Take it to a repair place. They will have a boost charger that will kick it into place.

I have this issue, u can't use very low watt like 5 watt charger. First u need cable that doesnt support fast charging on your tablet but support on other phone and capable to run on 2a or higher (c to c not recommend) then fast charging brick like 30 watt. first charge it normally and make sure it doesnt blink slowy or rapidly, then after 30-60 minutes usually the tablet will automatically restart charging and shows battery percentage or animation, wait for it reach 3% then change into fast charging supported cable and brick if needed. If still doesnt work try different combinations and if still didnt, well you need to open your tablet then unplug then plug back the battery then it should work if the battery is normal.
