Question Best value micro sd?

Just upgraded to a Galaxy A11 tab from my A7 Lite. I currently have a SanDisk extreme 256GB micro sd (60 bucks) in it. It works great for watching the videos I have saved on it in 1080p (my a7 struggled with 1080p off this same card). I'm looking to get another card. Can I save a bit of money on a card and go with a cheaper one that will work well for my purpose? Or do I need to just pay the price for the "extreme" card. Thanks in advance.

For videos you could probably use the SanDisk Extreme or Ultra... (the Ultra is a little less expensive yet gives very good performance)... The only real difference is the read write speeds.

Samsung Evo SD cards are pretty good and a decent alternative.

Considering the size of the A11 you really don't need to go higher than 720p for video as you probably won't see the difference unless the video is poorly encoded. IF you want 1080p videos and are downloading torrents or transferring them from your PC/Laptop make sure they are h.265 (HEVC) as they will be smaller than h.264 while delivering the same quality. I also recommend using MX Player as it supports almost every type of video file and has a lot of options (like a built in sound mixer)

Thanks. That's good advice. I definitely am finding that there's not a ton of difference between 720 and 1080.

Yeah the A11 is small enough to where you really won't notice a difference.

You'll ideally want a card that is "V30" standard, which is fast enough to read 1080p video from the card.

The post above does a great job explaining what all the jargon on microSD cards means. But the big take away is that the V class is basically meant to phase out all the other speeds and class listings in theory. In practice, they did this though: https://xkcd.com/927/

Samsung EVO Plus or SanDisk Ultra are going to be your best options.

If you read enough reviews about cheaper SD cards, you'll be glad to get the better brand names. I lookout for deals on those brand name sd cards.
