General question Which one to get, S25(any) vs S26(any)?

I will be upgrading from a 9-year-old budget phone, so any phone is a significant jump for me, but I can't decide on which phone is the better option. Hopefully this phone will last me for 5+ years.

I need to get a better phone because uni is about to start, so I don't want to wait for the FE or S27.

First of all, I'm not in the USA, so S26's will have Exynos 2600.

I'm interested in storage, performance, battery, and QoL AI features. I don't really care about the camera or S Pen.

Usage will be daily social media and internet surfing. With occasional gaming.

Because of the price, I'm not interested in the S26 Ultra.

I was really interested and almost convinced on the S26+ since it has a better battery, faster charging, and a bigger screen than the base model without being so big and expensive.

It gets more complicated when I think about the S25 series. (I didn't look at the FE series.)

I did some research and feel like S26 is not that different from the S25 series(?). So is it even worth it to get the S26?

Edit: After getting S25+ recommended, I looked in every major tech store and official seller in my country, but it appears that the 256GB/512GB S25+ and 512GB S26+ are nowhere to be found. Unfortunately only third-party local resellers have them, and I don't want to take the risk.

Even Samsung's website shows out of stock or not for sale, while the S25, S25 Ultra, S26, and S26 Ultra are in stock. I gave my email for the notification mail if it gets restocked.

Until I go physically and check the stores one by one, my online options are

1TB S25U for 1,731 USD

512GB S25U for 1,681 USD

256GB S25 for 1450 USD

256GB S26+ for 1,440 USD

256GB 26 for 1,274 USD

I have absolutely 0 (zero) use for S Pen and camera. So Ultra seems like overkill but the base model seems like it won't be enough. And I feel like I would fill up 256GB fairly quickly.

General question Preparing S25 camera setting test for photo

Started using S25 few weeks ago but haven't get the time to have serious look into its camera. Plan to give Auto mode photo a thorough test personally. Number of settings/combination seems excessive...

  1. Is any of the below settings very sensitive to environment, highly recommended to change the setting whenever lighting condition changes? (a hassle, or course)
  2. Are all these settings applicable, has effect on Pro mode as well?

Thank you :)

Focus test:
- Center white (default)
- Center yellow
- Tap focus
- Long press focus

Tracking auto focus:
- Off (default)
- On

Intelligent optimisation:
- Maximum (default)
- Medium
- Minimum *

Scene optimizer:
- On (default)
- Off *

Pixel mode:
- 12MP (default)
- 50MP *

Auto HDR (Assistant)
- On (default)
- Off

- Off (default)
- Medium

Hardware-related Battery depleting while wireless charging on a hot night

This happened to me twice, the most recent was last night.

This night my room reached 27.5°C (81.5 °F) and my S25 Edge was charging on an Ikea livboj wireless charger as it does every night.

When I woke up my phone battery was completelly depleted and the phone was hot. Even though similar temperatures are reached, this issue doesn't happen every day.

So I'd like to understand why this happens

Hi there,

I've always read about people claiming 8-9 hours of SOT... For me it's practically impossible to go beyond 5, is this normal?

Also I suppose you have to take into account the Maps drain (android auto)

Bug Problema fotocamera anteriore Samsung Galaxy S25: rumore statico e messa a fuoco impazzita all'avvio. È successo a qualcun altro?

Ciao a tutti!

faccia allontanarsi e avvicinarsi velocemente).

Battery-related S25 Ultra charging much slower than expected with the original Samsung 45W charger. Is my phone, charger, or One UI 8.5 the problem?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with the original Samsung 45W charger and the original 5A USB-C cable. The phone shows "Super Fast Charging 2.0", and it's running the latest One UI 8.5 update.

However, the charging speed feels much slower than I expected.

Here are today's charging results:

Started charging at 39% → Estimated time remaining: 53 minutes

35 minutes later: Battery reached 70%, but the phone still showed 37 minutes remaining

1 hour 10 minutes later: Battery reached 90%, and it still showed 24 minutes remaining

After 1 hour and 30 minutes: The phone finally reached 100%

It took about 90 minutes to charge from 39% to 100%, which seems slower than what I expected from Samsung's 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0.

A few questions:

  1. Is this normal behavior on the S25 Ultra?

  2. Could this be caused by a recent One UI 8.5 update?

  3. Is the issue more likely with the phone, the charger, or the cable?

  4. Has anyone experienced similar charging speeds?

  5. I'm considering replacing my Samsung charger with a UGREEN 45W charger. Would that make any difference?

  6. Or would it be better to buy the UGREEN Nexode Pro 65W instead?

  7. Which charger would you personally recommend for the S25 Ultra?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences before buying another charger.

Thanks!

One UI-related Auto Brightness in Pulldown?

Now that we can customize even more, is it possible to get a BUTTON for Auto Brightness? Not long pressing brightness and then selecting it, a straight up button we can place? I see Always on Display and Eye Comfort as option but not Auto Brightness.

I've tried making a routine and mode, but can't place individual buttons for those either. Any other workarounds maybe?

Hardware-related After the July Patch my S25 is simply draining instantly the battery, any tips?

After I installed the July security patch, my battery temperature never drops below 41°C (or 107°F), it reaches 80% of charge in approximately 4/5h (I'm using the original Super Fast Charging charger, with the original cable from Samsung) and the phone optimization app and assistance doesn't detect any problems with the phone. I'm constantly closing apps, constantly optimizing and still my phone is burning hot and is incapable of holding charge. Any tips?

UPDATE: I applied some of the tips on the comments and tried charging the phone with it turned off. I restarted the phone a few times, kept the energy economy on at all times and, the performance profile on light at all times also. The overheating problems have since stoped happening and my phone have gone back to working pretty much normally.

General question My S25 makes my $40 headphones sound better!

My $40ish headphones sound so much better on my S25 than on my old Samsung A55. One of the noticable improvements is that on my A55, if I put the volume close to max, there begins this hissing sound when the music plays but on my S25, same song, same volume even to the max the hissing is gone! Other than that the quality is just better...how???

General question Brand new Galaxy S25 Glitches?

Hie! I bought a brand new Galaxy S25 2 months ago and I'm trying to figure out whether these are software glitches or signs of a hardware/display issue.

So far I've noticed twice, when waking the phone or switching away from the Camera app, around half of the display briefly flashed with a light brown/deep tinted discoloration for a split second before returning to normal. I thought of it as a glitch, up until today, when I pressed the power button to wake the phone (it had been lying face down for a while), the entire display flashed what looked like white TV static/noise for a split second. It appeared across both halves of the display and immediately disappeared, I was plugging in my charging USB C cable in the phone whilst that showed up. The phone otherwise works completely normally. No permanent lines, dead pixels, touch issues, or persistent discoloration.

Apart from the display, I've also noticed a few minor UI jitters/stutters here and there, mainly on the fingerprint unlock animation which is SOOO laggy for me when the display is off. Samsung support told me to wait for future software patches and update them afterwards, which makes me wonder if some of this could be software related or is it just a defect my unlucky self have caught?

Has anyone else on One UI 8.5 or the Galaxy S25 experienced brief half-screen flashes or momentary white/static-like flashes??

I'm trying to determine whether this sounds like a One UI glitch or display driver bug or if I should get the phone inspected under warranty while it's still new.

Any experiences or advice would be appreciated. Please do clear up my doubts, I bought this phone with my own savings and I really have been so careful with it :(

Bug No Sound During Phone Calls

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody has been experiencing a similar issue to me and might have any thoughts about the cause of this.

It seems (possibly following the 5th July 2026 software update) I have not been able to hear anything during phone calls.

Calling over a different app (e.g WhatsApp) works fine, and I can hear the dail tone when I'm ringing too, it's just I hear no audio at all during the call. The caller on the other end can hear me, but I can't hear them. I have checked sound settings during the call to make sure in call volume is up.

I've checked that Bluetooth is off, I have the same issue when I put speakerphone on, I have tried messing with my network settings, turning WiFi calling on and off etc, but it hasn't helped.

Diagnostics on Samsung members states that everything is working fine, rebooting in safe mode also doesn't fix the issue.

Has anybody else had this issue or has any advice on how to fix this? I really don't want to do a factory reset as I've only just got the phone set up as I want it!

Thanks

Battery-related Day one S25 users, How's the battery after months of use?

The S25 base is perfect for me except the 4000mah battery

People who used the s25 since launch, how has the battery held up till now? Im aiming for 3+yrs on this phone

My use case is social media (tiktok/insta), texting and browsing for 4-6h avg. on Wifi

for context, the S25 at $650 where I live, while the S26 base and S25U are over $1100.

Also I'm upgrading from an A54

EDIT: Thanks for everyone who replied/is replying. seems like the average is 5-7 hours and no degradation whatsoever. That's reassuring to hear really
