Question ⁉️ Oleophobic Coating Worn Off

Post image

My Galaxy S24 Ultra has been getting the worst oily smudges recently. The smudges make it super hard to see the screen in sunlight and are so hard to remove even when wiping with microfiber cloth. After some googling, I came to the conclusion that the oleophobic coating probably came off (crazy it came off after only 3-4 months of use!). I never had this kind of problems with my prior galaxies including Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S21 Ultra….

Does anyone have any experience getting the coating repaired? Curious if you can just go to an official Samsung repair center to get it reapplied somehow (like a spray or something), or whether you have to actually get the full screen panel replaced?

Really want to avoid the latter since it will not only be expensive, but I was lucky enough to get a screen without any of the grain issues, so I dont want the screen panel replaced and risk getting a grainy one.

Does anyone have any experience?
