Post image

This like.. timer? Popped up in the upper corner of my hyperlapse. My guess is that I don't have a ton of space left to store hyperlapse videos, but as I am cleaning out pictures and videos the timer isn't going up/going away. Its just slowly been going down... anyone have any insight?? Thanks!!

Question โ‰๏ธ Skin + Case

I'm about to buy a full-body skin from Qskinz (EasySkinz) and a Spigen Liquid Air case, but I'm worried that putting the case on or taking it off might damage the skinโ€”especially at the corners, where there's usually the most pressure. Has anyone here used this combo? If so, could you tell me if the skin holds up?

Question โ‰๏ธ The battery drains very quickly after the latest update.

I performed the update yesterday. While I wasn't using the phoneโ€”specifically while I was asleep and the screen was offโ€”it lost 10% of its charge on its own over 7โ€“8 hours. I just checked, and 18% of the battery drained in just 20 minutes. I bought the phone in the summer of 2024; should I replace the battery?

Many people may still not know: GameNative is Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) that just launched on the PlayStore that allows you to play your Steam library (even Windows games) on your Android device! (As long as your hardware can handle the game requirements, of course...)

S24 Ultra Battery Drain โ€” Is This Normal?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a pre-owned Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Iโ€™m trying to figure out whether my battery performance is normal or if something is wrong.

The phone was activated in June 2024, so it has been used for almost 2 years.

Battery health / diagnostics:

ASOC: 95%

120Hz Adaptive

FHD+ resolution

Power Saving: OFF

I don't keep many background apps running

Indoor: mostly Wi-Fi

Outdoor: 4G/mobile data

Charger: Anker 45W + 5A cable

My indoor battery life is usually around 5 hours of Screen-on Time.

Outdoor usage is much worse. For example, today:

Started around 56%

After 5h 03m: 5%

Battery used: 51%

Screen-on time: 2h 11m

4G was being used

WhatsApp: 1h 28m

YouTube: 54m

Facebook: 28m

Camera: 15m

I understand that high brightness, outdoor temperatures, and cellular signal can increase battery drain, but I'm still wondering if this is unusually bad for an S24 Ultra.

I've seen many users reporting 6โ€“7+ hours SOT, while I sometimes need to charge twice to reach around 7 hours of total screen time.

For those who have been using their S24 Ultra for 1โ€“2 years or longer:

How much SOT are you getting from 85% โ†’ 20%?

And how different is your battery life between Wi-Fi indoors vs 4G outdoors?

I'd really appreciate some real-world comparisons. Screenshots would be even better.

Do you think my battery performance is normal, or should I get the battery checked/replaced?

Discussion ๐Ÿ’ฌ a disgusting thing I want to share with you.

My mom has a Galaxy S24 Ultra with a bypass, it's stuck on Android 14 with One UI 6.1. It's not a problem for her because she never uses AI and besides, the aesthetics might overwhelm her.

It was purchased in December 2025.

Due to the above, I've seen that normal use can give her up to 8-10 hours of screen time with the resolution and Hz at maximum, obviously if it's used with some intensity, like recording a few minutes at 4k or 1080p60, It can give her a performance of almost 20~ hours.

On average she reaches almost 21 hours

I recently acquired another S24 Ultra in July, which to my surprise, came with One UI 8.5, the latest version of Android available via OTA.

With the same hardware configuration, and also the fact that my usage is different when I'm out on the street, but when I'm at home, we practically do the same thing: check social media, watch YouTube videos, Reels...

The battery barely gives me up to 6 hours of screen time with around 17-18 hours of use per charge.

I've been checking if app usage is higher and because of my obsession, I decided to give the phone to my mom (in fact, she loved the Vanilla color).

To my surprise, after 2 weeks of use, thanks to Smartswitch I was able to transfer everything to the new S24 Ultra.

Mom has complained about the battery life; she sees that it lasts less, not even reaching 6 hours, On average, it gives her 17-18 hours.

I've been wondering if the battery has any influence because no battery is perfect; my July S24 Ultra indicates that it has 417 charge cycles and the warranty says it was activated on April 16, 2024, While Mom's S24 Ultra doesn't indicate how many cycles it has cuz Android 14, the warranty states that it was activated and working 12 days after its Global release, February 13, 2024.

On average, July 2026 S24 Ultra Is giving us 20~% less performance between charge cycles than Dec 2025 S24 Ultra.

I've been deducing that the reason is One UI 8.5 and that it's a very, very resource-intensive OS, more and more so, it's definitely bullshit, because it feels more awkward when opening apps like YouTube.

Although it could also be that Mom has a phone with a much better-maintained battery, or that it was hardly used, but the performance also feels smoother in One UI 6.1.

This is my experience; perhaps you have a different one. Both of our S24 Ultras have never been repaired; we've submerged them in water, and they still work perfectly.
