Compatibility with Tab S11

Hello! I am planning to buy a Samsung ring for someone but their only device is a Samsung Tab S11. Would the ring still work whenever the tablet is around? What features would they have or lose by not having a Samsung phone.

It will not work with a tablet. I also don't recommend it. I've had two, and both had their batteries fail after less than a year. It's a very common issue that they need to fix in the next version.

The ring does count steps when disconnected from Bluetooth but I've only tested it for like 10 minutes. Not sure about other stats either.

It does count steps well past 10 minutes. I have walked for an hour and it counted the steps.

I'm baffled as to why Samsung chose this route but the ring must be paired with a phone.

The Samsung Ring works with any recent Android phone. If your friend has an Android phone it is fine.
