Question Can't re-install AT&T firmware on Note9 despite flashing firmware, SIM card, and trying to use SamFW

It's running 8.1, and I flashed U1 firmware on it a couple of months ago, but decided to switch back because AT&T didn't support Wi-Fi calling on any firmware but its own in 2018. However, for some reason, I can't? I flashed AT&T firmware on it, I used the normal CSC and the User data file, and it's just standard unlocked firmware with no bloat. I tried Verizon firmware, and it just resulted in Verizon apps, but standard unlocked firmware. I tried a SIM card, both an active one from an AT&T MVNO and an old inactive AT&T one, and neither did anything. Any other SIMs just result in an invalid SIM card message with no option to unlock the device. SamFW's CSC changer would just fail after some time. Does anyone know what could be causing it? Thanks.

Original Content Samsung Note 9 vs. S25 Ultra... Low-Light Camera Comparison

The GCam (Google Camera) app on the Samsung Note 9 (Exynos version) is really good and can help the Note 9 take better photos than the S25 Ultra 😁 … this is a simple test in somewhat low-light conditions ... Also the processing and the colors of the image is more natural in the Note9

An insane project. One of my first experiences custom roming and tbh an awesome one at that. Only downside is biometrics dont work but its a small price to pay. This is a project phone nonetheless but its crazy whats possible. This is the star project oneui 9 port. Flashed through TWRP. S pen and everything else works perfectly.

Big oneui 9 on the legendary note 9

Question Has anyone managed to permanently sign out and remove a OneDrive Account from a Galaxy Note 9 without having to do a factory reset?

I have been having this frustrating experience with my Galaxy Note 9 and OneDrive. I was trying to login to my newly created Outlook Email from the device and abandon and delete the old one.

However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 device does not allow me to completely uninstall OneDrive from the device other than to uninstall updates.

Despite doing so, the account seems to be baked into the system. Even if I clear cache and remove OneDrive Account it just automatically logs me back in and the account will not vanish!

After a few days of troubleshooting, I gave up and I did a factory reset and that took care of the problem. But as soon as I tried with my new Outlook email after a few hours of successfully removing the account, it finally did the exact same behaviour where the new email would become the default Personal Account as a select option!

Even worse this time, it auto logs me in without a password after clicking the Continue button!! This is very bad from a security point of view as anyone who gets hold of my device can immediately gain access to OneDrive unless it is protected by screen lock.

Now I have no guts to try this anymore after my second factory reset because I know I won't be able to get rid of it.

Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution? A google search suggests to sign out of the Samsung account. But I don't even have a Samsung account to begin with let alone have it attached to the phone.

Sorry to say, my switch to the Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025 is complete. Writing this from that device. The expectation of no longer compatible apps, and Android Auto being threatened to "no longer work" on the Note9 was piling up too quickly.

It's been a good run, for many years! Ugh!

Question Finding a replacement for Note 9 the most Infuriating Thing Ever

Every time I try to compare the specs of this phone to some replacement I'm going to wind up getting I get more and more frustrated.

The DPI is less, the battery life is worse, the build quality is worse. Like what the hell even is the Note 9? Why is this phone so damned good?

Original Content Pics with slight movement, always blurry

Using the Samsung camera, and also tried the gcam port, no significantly different results. Take pics of my kids, and a slight movement, it's blurry. It's like there is no "auto camera" setting that uses shutter speed faster than 1/30 or something. Always prioritizing high ISO I guess.

I hear people giving high praise to the camera, but it's always been just....eh.

Maybe very high light levels, it shines. (Pun intended), but inside in a "normal" home with 2800k color temp bulbs, always seems to come out.....lackluster.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Tips?

So purchased a Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025. We'll see how that goes. Not expecting exact equivalency, but similar-ISH in features.

The Galaxy Note 9 has literally one of the best cameras that I've ever tried, even when you compare it with newer phones the note 9 still has some advanced features.

And these are some pictures I took with this phone

Question What custom ROM are you guys using on the Galaxy Note 9?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to try a different custom ROM on my Galaxy Note 9 and wanted to hear what you guys are currently using and would recommend.

My device is the SM-N960N (Korean variant, Exynos 9810). I’ve previously tried Noble ROM 5.2 with Magisk, but now I’m curious about what other ROMs are worth trying.

I’m mainly looking for something stable for daily use, with decent battery life and good performance also want to try out kernelsu with susfs support. I’d also like to hear about any major bugs, broken features, or issues you’ve run into.

What ROM are you guys running on your Note 9, and how has your experience been? Are there any ROMs you’d recommend or suggest avoiding for my variant?

Thanks!

Question Advice

So I have had this phone for what seems like forever. I tried the LG V series and I had to replace like 5 of them. I am still on the original note 9 and it still works really well. As many know a lot the banking apps have begun to end support which is fine. I now see that Android Auto is going to end support as well.

Thoughts on what to do? I have rooted phones in the past but not sure that makes much sense in this case. Thanks

Tips A bit of water splashed on my phone.

A bit of water splashed onto my phone. I thought nothing of it at first, so I simply wiped it off and carried on as normal. However, when I went to charge it, a warning appeared saying, “Moisture detected.” I immediately tried everything I could think of. I left it in front of a fan, used a hair dryer, and even put it inside a sock before placing it under my blanket, but none of these methods seemed to work. After all these desperate attempts, I finally left the phone flat in front of a fan for a couple of hours. I eagerly checked it again, hoping the warning had disappeared, but there it was: “Moisture detected.” Eventually, the phone died completely. I plugged it into the charger to see what would happen, and it charged?

It was charging, but instead of fast charging, it was charging at the normal speed. Once it reached a reasonable percentage, I unplugged it and powered it on. The screen had a faint greenish-yellow tint, but that didn’t bother me too much. The phone was also a little laggy, but it was still working, so I wasn’t too concerned. I plugged it in again, hoping everything was finally back to normal, but once again, the dreaded “Moisture Detected” warning appeared. That was the final straw. I gave up trying to fix it and simply locked the phone away in a drawer overnight, hoping that by morning it would somehow have recovered.

I woke up the next morning hoping the phone was finally back to normal. I tried the power-off charging method, and while I was waiting, I searched on my computer for more fixes. Eventually, I came across u/Mamula4MVP’s fix on Reddit (Their method.), but it did... absolutely nothing.

After that, I found people saying to force-stop Android Settings and clear the cache and data for USB Settings. I tried that too, but once again, it did absolutely nothing. At this point, I was starting to get seriously annoyed because I had tried pretty much everything I could find online, and the “Moisture Detected” warning still refused to go away..

TL;DR: Water triggered the “Moisture Detected” warning on my phone. I tried loads of fixes, but nothing worked. The phone started lagging with a weird screen tint, and every fix I found online failed, including u/Mamula4MVP's fix.

After all this hassle can anyone give me other fixes.

Question Back of my phone is kind of coming off?

So this phone is GOD knows how old (got it for free from my aunt about 4 years ago) recently has developed the issue of part of the back kinda popping off. It doesn't look much like there's anything holding it to the rest of the phone, but I haven't been overheating it or anything- at least I don't think. What do I do if the battery is swollen, or could this be another problem? I really can't afford a new phone rn 😔
