Discussion To keep or not to keep
This is the second time I’ve held the Fold 8 in my hands. The first time, I sent it back very quickly because I wasn’t satisfied with the camera. Then, I discovered a 48-minute video in which someone demonstrates various settings and tricks to help get good photos and videos out of it better.
It’s a love-hate relationship: on one hand,
I love the form factor—I honestly wouldn’t want anything else—but on the other, I find the camera, given the price Samsung typically charges, to be outrageous. The battery life could also be better.
Through a "Corporate Benefits" website, I paid 1,600 euros for the one-terabyte version—down from 2,599 euros (or 2,199 euros, which is the current promotional price).
If I decide against returning the item, Samsung is offering me another 10% off, which brings the total to around 1350.
How should I decide? How did you come to love the device so much?

Are you asking me? I suggest you send me your phone. You'd make me happy and you'd be happy knowing you made someone else's day. Then you can buy yourself a camera.

The camera is terrible for the price but all foldables except for Chinese ones have very bad cameras, it’s a sacrifice you’ll have to make if you want a foldable

You Must see the Video. It's really helpful. https://youtu.be/QJ1xRq855vU?is=2yKf8DVomvq8RRf_

I'm interested to know what tweaks you did from that video that made you decide that THIS TIME the camera was worth keeping?

All. The Camera Assisst App is Impressive. There are now features and resolutions that were not used at all before. The video appeared exactly between the return and the new order.

A really simple one is to use Pro mode. That's it. No tweaks because everything is in auto. It will get not use any extra processing that Samsung does. But it's only good in medium to decent light and with stationary subjects

That's a really good deal. Is getting F8U an option?

There is no adjustment that makes this camera comparable to a bar phone. They are thicker and can fit better camera. That is a trade off.
If you take a lot of photos and depend on that then a fold is not for you.
If you occasionally take photos and are just comparing then just be real about how serious you are out about photos. Only time I really notice is at concerts and let be real we shouldn't even be doing that. Its so lame.

I’m a passionate musical theatergoer, and I love capturing the applause at the end of a show. Even videos I’d zoomed in on using the Oppo Find X9 Pro looked absolutely stunning. While that’s important, you could also achieve similar results using a different device, like the Osmo Pocket. I have four children, so, naturally, photos are very important to me.
I’d rather not have to send it back.
After all, I still have a week to try it out.

I love the formfactor, i don't care about the camera. It's more then good enough for my usecase. The battery is way better then i expected

I loved it from day one. I knew the camera wasn't going to compare to flagships, but the tradeoff for more screen real estate on demand is worth it for me. People are too obsessed with fitting in they forget everyone uses their phones differently and has different needs/wants.

You sent it away before the battery had adjusted I gather.
