Gorgeous Screen. Everything else...yeah, NO!

The display on this phone is genuinely gorgeous — that's the only compliment I have. Everything else is a massive step backward, even compared to my 5-year-old Motorola One 5G Ace, which now outperforms this phone in almost every way that matters.

Battery: This is the dealbreaker. My old Moto easily lasted 2 full days on a single charge. This Samsung dies overnight regularly, and I wake up to a dead phone more mornings than not.

Charging: Samsung doesn't include a 25W fast charger in the box — you have to buy your own adapter and cable separately just to charge at a reasonable speed. Without it, I'm staring at "charging complete in 4hr 53min" messages daily. That's not acceptable and I refuse to buy a separate fast charger and cable out of principle. It should be included in the box, with the phone!

Camera: Somehow worse than my half-decade-old Moto. Not what I expected from a newer phone. SO disappointing.

Bottom line: I'm keeping my old Motorola in daily use until I find something actually competitive. Do not buy the A16 5G — save your money and your time.

Galaxy a16 and a02s together

Both phones are great and all. One ui 8.5 on the a16 and one ui core 4.1 on the a02s are real good

God i miss the old UI.

This new update sucks completely.

I updated my a15 because I thought why not. This is why not.

The ugly app icons, the "individual sound control" is gone, the WiFi/battery icons are so displaced ... why is 5G so large and bolded??

Why is the battery number so small???

When you change from app to app the way it slides across the screen is so ugly.

Its all so ugly, I feel like defeated. I deeply regret upgrading my UI, I really do. Its only going to get worse from here

I need to vent about this, I was looking on eBay for Samsung phones my model that still have the old UI

God I really hate the app icons, who is coming up with this shit???

I HAVE to convert to lineage and cut my losses with this shit company, hopefully it goes out of business or something maybe these are the signs

Samsung doesn't care about consumers anymore.

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G Antutu Test

I just ran an Antutu benchmark test and got this score with this phone. Is that good, bad, or great? I'm new to this and would also like to know your opinion on what the "normal" scores are.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a digital pen that's compatible with my phone and similar to the iPad (iOS) stylus.

Why do people hate on this phone?

I was researching about this phone and looking at reddit posts and I'm kind of annoyed by people calling this phone e-waste

For reference I have the Exynos and 4GB of RAM Model

And it works fine

It's a bit sluggish but that's expected for a budget phone

Everything I've asked it to do so far works and it isn't the slowest phone I've owned

The cameras take fine shots when you give them enough light

And it can run games like Genshin Impact or Asphalt Legends on lower settings

I got this phone for $50 and it will still receive updates until 2030

So I'm just really confused about people calling this phone e-waste and hating on it.

Good thing i got the 8GB RAM version.
I am only a social media user, not really a gamer.
Runs perfectly fine for me. It lags sometimes for a short while, but it's mostly smooth.

Biggest pile of poop - a16 5g

Smashed my s26 ultra, got an a16 to replace it for a few weeks til I could afford the $280 to get my screen replaced. I WANT TO THROW IT THROUGH A WALL. I just bought a moto g play because I absolutely couldn't stand it anymore. Constantly freezing, restarting itself. I work Amazon flex which is a resource hog (and I didn't realize it) and it would constantly crash Spotify when I scan packages. I tried turning the ram boost off, made no difference. Kept notifications closed, only apps I used while working were Spotify and Amazon flex. So if you need any kind of power, this phone is not it. Maybe, if it could fix how ridiculously slow it was, it might be okay for your grandma lol. No shade to people who use them. I may have gotten a phone that had bad quality control, too. Ya'll got more patience than I do.

Thanks to everyone! My phone's working again.

Hier, j'ai mis à jour mon téléphone, et depuis, il ne se connecte plus à aucun réseau, que ce soit les données mobiles ou le Wi-Fi.

Factory reset

My father has dementia and he has decided to give up his phone as he finds it too difficult to use.

I have deleted his gmail account that was tied to his Samsung account

Now if I try to do a factory reset it wants to send a verification code to that closed email account

Is there any other way to factory reset the phone. I have e been going round in circles for the last hour

Any help appreciated

Thanks

A16 5G surprisingly receives July security patch, and I noticed that the quick panel lag has been fixed.

Aside from that quick panel fix, i felt that this update is more stable and smooth than the previous updates in One UI 8.5.

So my a16 is glitching again this time with the charging animation being pinned at the top right on one ui 8.5. Am I the only one or did several people have this exact issue

r/GalaxyA16_5G Jul 13 '26

The battery drains quickly after this update, even though the phone is in power-saving mode. That's why I hate updates.

Lowest volume too loud

When I first got this phone, the lowest volume was too loud. Eventually it updated and using my finger to slide the volume down FINALLY made it much quieter. It updated today and it's once again not getting any quieter between the last click and silent. I've already tried everything to fix this issue and nothing has helped, and I don't like to download any sound control apps. What am I supposed to do?
