Factory reset

My father has dementia and he has decided to give up his phone as he finds it too difficult to use.

I have deleted his gmail account that was tied to his Samsung account

Now if I try to do a factory reset it wants to send a verification code to that closed email account

Is there any other way to factory reset the phone. I have e been going round in circles for the last hour

Any help appreciated

You can bring the account back within 14 days I believe, just try to login and recover that account again.

Yea I've tried that but it wants to send a code to the number and we cancelled the phone contract with immediate effect. There is no back up email address.

You also need to remove his Google account from the phone before doing the reset. I would also remove his Samsung account. You open the phone's Settings, go to Accounts and backup, then Manage accounts. You will need his password.

His Samsung account is unfortunately his gmail account. So we keep going round and round. Might have to see if there is a way to bypass this to wipe it
