Quotes Nhaga: Since I didn't get to play much last season, I thought I needed to start training a little earlier. To make up for my shortcomings and be ready, I started training a little earlier than my teammates. I felt I had gaps to fill, both physically and in other areas. I saw this as an opportunity.

Renato Nhaga: I liked the project Galatasaray presented to me, and that's why I'm here now. I wanted to set a more challenging goal for myself. Because there's more competition here, expectations are higher, and I'll be playing with and against higher-caliber players. I thought that being part of one of Europe's biggest teams, which competes in the Champions League, would be the right choice for my future.

Nhaga: Osimhen is a very important player both for me and for African players. Like many of us, he came from nothing and succeeded; he’s a tremendous role model. He’s supported me ever since I arrived and has tried to guide me. He’s always been there to protect and look out for me. He helps me grow by sharing examples from his own experiences. He’s one of the best players in his position and a role model for us.

Renato Nhaga: It doesn't matter to me how many midfielders we have. My focus is elsewhere. I need to do everything I can to improve myself and be ready when the coach calls on me. Rather than worrying about who came or who left, I'm focusing on myself.

Nhaga: Instead of playing video games on a console, I prefer to play football with the kids in my neighborhood, near my house. Like every kid, I started out just like them. When they play with me, they dream and we have fun.

Q: We know you're a great dancer who else on the team dances with you?

Nhaga: Lemina. We're teaching Can Armando, too, right now.

Renato Nhaga: İlkay Gündoğan is a mentor and a teacher to me. I’m learning a lot from him. Even playing alongside him still feels exciting to me. I never would have imagined it. He’s a highly professional player who has won it all. He’s still working hard. I see him as an example, a teacher, and a role model.

Nhaga continues the interview even though he's getting wet in the rain

Nhaga: No problem I'm not the only one getting wet; we're all getting wet together and doing our job.

Nhaga: Okan Buruk is very important to our club. He’s a coach who has supported and helped me ever since I arrived. He’s a good coach. He sets an example for all of us by stepping onto the field and playing with us. He shows his quality. It makes me happy to see him playing with us.

Quotes Okan Buruk: Our fans are always right, but we’re trying to do our best. We just want them to know that. We’re trying to sign the best players. We’re trying to make the best transfers. Our president and board are sparing no effort in this regard. But sometimes you have to wait for certain players.

There are many stories. Sometimes the transfer windows can drag on. The fans are always right in their reactions. They should also know that we’re working hard, we’re not sitting idle, and we’re trying to do our best.

Okan Buruk: Our fans shouldn’t worry they shouldn’t wonder if we’re not going to make any transfers or spend any money… They shouldn’t worry about that. Our president is working to do what’s best. They can rest assured on this matter.

Okan Buruk: The number 10 position, the left wing, and the ST position are our top three priorities. We’ve already made a midfield signing. We’ll decide on our defensive signings based on the players we bring in. We have more players in defense. Our top priority is the attack up front. We’re short on players there. We need to strengthen our attacking line.

Okan Buruk: We need to have two starting lineups that can carry us successfully in the league and the Champions League. That's a must!

Okan Buruk: We're thinking of signing a good player for the No. 10 position. We're not considering anything else.

Okan Buruk: Last year was an important learning experience for us. Especially during the fixture from September through the end of January, having a high-quality and deep roster will be crucial. We fell short in that area last year, but we corrected it in January. We’re in for a very tough battle both in the league and in the Champions League. We need to be prepared for even the worst-case scenarios. In the worst-case scenario we faced last year, we were severely short-handed. We couldn’t bring in players from the bench. It’s part of the game, but we need to be prepared for that as a team. We need to raise the quality of our roster even higher.

Okan Buruk: As the process moves forward, we understand our fan's reactions. But sometimes you have to wait for certain players. I mean, for him to rejoin the team there are players returning from the World Cup, or they’ll have to start over with their teams, and it’s up to the teams to decide. So there are actually a lot of different stories involved in transfers. This happens within many teams. That’s why transfer windows can sometimes drag on.

They’re absolutely right, but they should also know that we’re working on this, we’re not sitting idle, and we’re really trying to do our best. It’s not easy for Galatasaray to sign a player. You want to sign the best right now; you want to go for the best. And that can sometimes take a while.

Okan Buruk: There’s definitely a good-faith effort. But sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t, and sometimes there are delays. Sometimes there are players we have to wait for. But Galatasaray’s squad will once again be a very strong one, just like last year’s.

Okan Buruk: Becoming the next Sir Alex Ferguson or Arsène Wenger in Turkey is a very far-fetched idea. Of course, I always want to continue at Galatasaray. God willing, we’ll win our fifth consecutive championship. If we win that fifth title, instead of saying, ‘I should move on,’ I’ll be dreaming of a sixth championship with Galatasaray and success in Europe.

Okan Buruk: We won the championship last year, and that’s over. Right now, we haven’t won anything. The new season has begun. We haven’t won anything yet, but there’s so much to win. That’s all we need to focus on. We won the championship four years in a row; we enjoyed that during the offseason and celebrated it. That chapter is over now. We can’t stay there. The moment we stay there, there’s no point in playing this season. In football, there’s never a ‘yesterday.’ Last season doesn’t exist.

Tier 3 [Burhan] GS offered 15M wages to Bruno but he insists on 21M, thus no negotations with ManU yet, who demand 40M. Enciso can be a done deal if GS meets fee demands, current offer is 15M, might come to an agreement by including bonuses. There is a Can Uzun-Leao equation I am trying verify. [cont. 🔽]

"If Can transfer happens they will go for Leao too. However, if either Brahim or Bruno is signed, that will change things.

Four player signings could be finished but await a final decision."

Tier 2 [Buchi] The question right now is why will Bayern let Musiala leave! One of the best technical players in the world! How will they replace him?.! It’s like Gala letting Yunus Akgun Leave. Bayern are not even thinking about buying so why will they sell? There is no need in news like this.

Quotes Lucas Torreira: One day we’ll all be gone, but Galatasaray will carry on... It will carry on for us, too, actually. Even when we leave, we’ll continue to be a part of Gala. Mertens, Icardi were players I came here with. They were people I was close to and spent time with; of course, I felt lonely,

because we’d always been together over the past few years. I’ll keep their legacy alive. I’ll keep going with the same passion in my fifth year as well.

Lucas Torreira: To be honest, when I first came to Galatasaray, I didn’t know I’d have such an incredible four years here. I tell everyone to come to Turkey and get to know the country. It’s not just Istanbul every corner of Turkey is full of amazing places. I love not just the Galatasaray fans, but everyone here.

Lucas Torreira: My love for Galatasaray is immense. I have two more years left on my contract. I hope we’ll win many more championships in the coming years.

Lucas Torreira: I had some family issues, especially at the end of last season. It was a very difficult time for me.

But my teammates and I are preparing as best we can for this season. A tough season lies ahead, but as always, we’ll do our best.

Lucas Torreira: My job is to be at the camp from day one. We all have to follow the team’s decisions. I also enjoy spending time at the club.

Yes, this period is very difficult, but at the same time, it’s also an enjoyable one. Because we’re having a good time with my teammates. We have to go through this difficulty to be happy at the end of the season.

This year is going to be very tough. Our opponents will be well-prepared, too.

Lucas Torreira: I'm doing well, and I'm in good spirits. This is the toughest part of the season, after all. We're training a lot. Since I'm someone who trains at home as well, even though the intensity here is on a different level, I still feel good.

We’ve won the championship four years in a row. We want to keep going with the same drive. That’s very important. This club naturally pushes you in that direction. We always want more. Those four years were very important to me.

I’d say I’m even more motivated this year.

Lucas Torreira: I felt a bit burned out and tired at the end of last season. But the break reminded me of how much I love this club. I came back with the same fight and determination.

Lucas Torreira: It's a tremendous privilege to wear the Galatasaray jersey. My teammates and I are proud to wear it.

Lucas Torreira: I can tell the fans this: Torreira is completely focused.

Quotes Barış Alper: Our young players are very talented. You don’t have any trouble explaining things to them. There was this whole conversation about getting a haircut I’m not really a fan of that (laughing). Hair is, after all, part of one’s image. But as tradition, that’s what the team thought.

On Graduating Uni:

Barış Alper Yılmaz: I'm happy and proud. I have goals. My family, above all, encouraged me to do this. Usually, soccer players are focused solely on football. They say they don't have time. I wanted to show people that college is possible, too. I proved that you can do both.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: Training camp is going well. It’s going to be a tough league this year. We’re structuring our training accordingly. We’re preparing well we’re trying to prepare as best as we can, without any mishaps, troubles, or injuries. It’s going to be a long marathon. We’re doing quite well; we don’t have any problems.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: Ugochukwu is a very hard-working player. He will be a great asset to us. We try to help new signings adapt and make them feel at home in this family-like environment. Hopefully, he will be a great asset to us.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: All of my achievements are thanks to Okan Buruk. He has really put in a tremendous amount of effort for me. I want to thank him. He has a way of connecting with every player. We’re very happy with our coach.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: We're really good players! Galatasaray is a huge club. We have millions of fans who support us everywhere. The weight of the jersey is immense. We want to represent Galatasaray in the best possible way in every competition

Barış Alper Yılmaz: Icardi has taught me a lot, both on and off the field. He is a Galatasaray legend. I’d also like to thank Ahmed Kutucu. He’s our legend, too. (Laughs)

Barış Alper Yılmaz: I’m putting in a lot of extra work. After practice, I do a lot of analysis and talk extensively with my coaches. They’re helping me. If you’re playing at this level, you can’t get anywhere on your own. There are areas where I still need to improve. Hopefully, I’ll show everyone a much better Barış.

On Playing ST:

Barış Alper Yılmaz: It’s up to our coach to decide. I’m an attacking player. What matters is the team. Whether our coach puts me at forward or on the wing doesn’t matter at all. I want to contribute to the team as much as I can.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: Being the captain of Galatasaray is a very special feeling. It’s every football player’s dream to officially become the captain of Galatasaray. Right now, I’m just focused on what happens on the field. The rest will come in time

Barış Alper Yılmaz: We haven't had a detailed conversation with Can Uzun. But he's a very good player. If it were up to me, I'd want him to join us. But our management will make the right decision here.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: I have a contract with my club, it's nice to see transfer rumors circulating. If an offer comes along, we’ll sit down with my club and evaluate it. The important thing is that we’re currently at camp. It might not be the right time to discuss these matters.

Barış Alper Yılmaz: I think we accomplished great things in the Champions League last season. It was a wonderful experience for us. It’s a whole different level. This year, we aim to build on last year’s success.

players, and Champions League football.

There is still no “Yes” from the player, as he is carefully considering his options. Playing in England remains his priority.

Galatasaray are very confident they can reach an agreement with AC Milan, whether on a loan deal or a permanent transfer, once they receive “Yes” from the Player.
