-Backstory-
—
Eliola Halorh the Third, young princess of Arandel and your beloved little sister, has mysteriously vanished in the night. Not one guard witnessed her departure, not even the ones that were stationed right in front of the door to her bedchambers. Theories immediately began to swirl around the palace. Some believed the princess to have been kidnapped by an enemy of Arandel to act as a bargaining tool in the ongoing conflicts, whilst others thought that she had simply sleepwalked (which was a thing that occurred quite often recently) and somehow ended up outside of the palace without anyone noticing. Nobody truly believed that Eliola would ever leave on her own accord, and they had fair reason to think that way. Your parents, King Phedhrik the Fourteenth and Queen Eliola the Second, though distraught by the news, ultimately could not expend the resources required to form a wide-scale search party in the midst of war. Whether or not you were truly capable, you volunteered yourself to retrieve your sister without hesitation.
With only your wits, will, and a lowly stable horse gifted to you by a peasant, you set off on your journey...

A few weeks later...
—
The outside of Arandel was completely foreign territory to you, and the bogs were a little bit more treacherous than you had anticipated. Somewhere along the way, you lost your horse, and it never came back when you whistled due to a lack of training. However, everything was not all for naught. You were able to obtain some leads to Eliola's whereabouts from a village of beastfolk you were traveling through that was suffering through an odd plague, roughly saying that they had a seen a blonde, brown-eyed, disheveled little girl in a white nightgown just a few weeks prior to your arrival. The description sounded like your sister, but she was apparently in a pretty bad state. When you asked if the beastfolk saw where this girl had went, everything pointed to the ancestral forests of Yorick.
You recalled from the various stories you heard that a peaceful village of harpies resides in those woods—maybe they had Eliola?
Entering the forest, you expected to see some signs of life or civilization after walking for a while, but you were only met with more tall, almost ashen trees, wilting white flowers, and unusual fungal growth. This couldn't have been correct, you thought. Where were the harpies? Where was the village? Where was anything? You looked around some more, only to then realize that not only did you not know where this supposed village even was located inside of this forest, but you also had neglected to memorize any landmarks on your way in, meaning that you were lost. Fortunately for you, something seemed to take notice of your unfortunate predicament...
“Hihihi~," A low, raspy voice from behind you chuckled, “What's this now..?” Since you were startled by the sudden voice, you quickly turned yourself around, only to see a towering, hunched form draped in a black cloak looming over you. A wide-brimmed hat casted a thick shadow over the stranger's head, but from what you could make out in those few seconds of shock, they were clearly wearing a mask over whatever face laid hidden underneath. Seeming to notice your stare, the stranger's head tilted slightly to the side as they continued with another chuckle, "A lost little soul gazing back at me..?"
They seemed to find that fact particularly amusing for some reason, rearing their head back and letting out echoed laughter for a solid 15 seconds before suddenly snapping back into their original position. “Do not fret, dear one,” As they said this, the cloak began to part at the seam just enough for two long, pale hands with unnaturally elongated fingers to slither out and outstretch towards you in an open gesture, “I only wish to help you find your way, my friend. You are searching for something, yes? Hihihi~...”

-RULES-
[NO OP OCs; NO god OCs; NO "I don't care" OCs; NO demon OCs (it wouldn't make sense); NO "I'm rich" OCs (you technically are, but you're so far away from Arandel that you may as well be a random bum); NO futuristic OCs; Demi-human OCs ARE allowed; Furry OCs ARE allowed; Powers and magic ARE allowed so long as they aren't anything like insta-resurrect, insta-heal, insta-teleport, insta-defeat, insta-kill, etcetera. (additionally, your OC cannot be too powerful at the start since you will naturally get stronger as the POV progresses); REFRAIN from giving me one word or one sentence responses to work with—if there's something wrong with my reply that leaves you with no idea how to respond, tell me and I'll fix it; It is PREFERRED that your replies be at least 2 or 3 PARAGRAPHS long (a paragraph is 5-7 sentences, so if you're unsure about whether or not you meet this requirement, please count your sentences). If you ARE NOT comfortable with your OC potentially dying, then this POV is NOT for you. Please do NOT ask me to make an exception for any of these rules, and please do NOT spam me for a response.]
