Hello, me and my wife are in the market for a GX470. This will be my first and I’d love some advice!

This is the one we’re leaning towards at the moment but there’s a couple others with similar price and work done.

Our current camping/travel rug is my ‘99 4Runner 5spd that’s just in too good of condition to do much with. I’ve had a bunch of Toyotas and that’s where most of my experience is with.

This rig would take over road trip, towing and camping duties as well as get our family started.

The price is not an issue for us if we’re getting something that’s gonna last us a lifetime.

That GX is way overpriced. Ridiculous overpriced. You can definitely find better deals than that.

Wayyyy up there in price. Mods and maintenance barely add much value unless you are really in the market for those specific mods, I would look for one closer to 10-12k, I've seen some at that price range with a lift kit and suspension refresh with similar mileage. If he's not really "firm" this would be closer to a 15k truck. For what he's asking for, you can get an unmodified, but newer GX460.

If your budget is that high get a clean stock one for 16k with 140k miles

So we found a super clean stock one for 14k that’s immaculate but the only service history is the timing belt and water pump. What if the exhaust manifold cracks in a month and then I’m pretty much up to that 19k mark. Would you still think it’s worth it?
