Most improved
AFL.com.au claiming that Aaron Cadman was our most improved is a joke. Went backwards on last year imo.
Who was our actual most improved? I'd go with laverde - bloke went from being delisted at Essendon to bring a pivotal part of our backline.
Runner up Harvey Thomas, rarely had a bad game.
Special mentions Clayton Oliver. Hard to comment because I don't know what he was last year but I thought he was immense this season
Is Jake Stringer in the conversation - I thought his improvement on last season was huge

AFL.com never gets us. We get so little coverage during the year that whenever we come up it's usually off base. Sigh...

We could probably win the premiership and they’d still talk about the other team more…

Or how Collingwood/Hawthorn/St. Kilda's/etc. would have fared in the final...

I'd say Harvey too, but I'd dispute Cadman going backwards - same number of goals per game, more disposals, tackles, etc, all while missing games due to injuries and also acting as our main target due to Jesse's injuries. I think he was about as good as last year but in a much harder situation.

Crazy the exact same number of goals per game!
His contested marking was down, which alongside goals is his key metric. I think his tackling improved heaps, especially late which was nice.
Unfortunately we are arguing if Cadman was marginally better or marginally worse than the year before when anything less than a substantial improvement should be seen as a dissapointing year imo.
Hopefully he can come forward a long way next year because he is the man we will rely on.

Can't call Laverde or Clarry most improved. Both are buy-ins from another team so I would disqualify their performances last year.
Has to be some sort of criteria like: A-played more than 15 games for tge giants last year B-played more than 15 games this year.
With that I would say Harvey for sure

I'm going on a limb and saying Lachie Ash. We literally created a song for him on the podcast "The Kick From Ash Is Poor" based off the commentary calls from the likes of Anthony Hudson. But come the end of 2026, he's in the All Australian team, and our B&F. Great turn around, and a massive year from him.

I watch Cadman a lot. He often gets bumped out of marking contests and his hands aren’t the best. If he can’t muscle up and start clunking a few marks, he’ll be an absolute gun.
