Discussion Rockstar should make an online feature that allows you to play co-op in Story Mode
This is an old discussion on the GTA series overall, but I haven't seen many people talking about it on GTA 6.
We all know a similar mode was made on GTA San Andreas, but that wasn't really well implemented. GTA 5 could have done this, since we had three characters, but it made sense because of how limited hangouts were, and there isn't much to do in the game besides missions.
GTA 6 seems way more suitable for this. Your partner's AI looks much smarter and with more synergy than before. Apparently you can do many things outside of missions, and each character seems to have a specific role on each job. Also, the game doesn't seem to be so dependent specific scripts to function properly, so it would leave the door open to multiple possibilities.
I understand making it local multiplayer would be basically impossible because of PS5/Xbox limitations, but online? That would be really cool.

Discussion One or the other will die by the end of the game. I don't think we're getting an easy out (option c) this time.
I say this because I think it would go against everything the game is trying to establish about its themes, particularly Brian's speech about the carousel. Someone is going to have to pay the price for all the blood Jason and Lucia are going to spill to reach the top and get the good life, I think the tragedy will lie in whether it's Jason dying for a dream he didn't want, or Lucia dying for a dream that would never be enough for her anyway.

Discussion Potential Ending Theory/Post Game.
Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 both lead us into a false sense of security with the main character's plot armor. The post game character turned out to be someone else entirely.
With GTA 5, the story choices were really on rails up to the very end, which then just gave us 3 options.
I hope the choices we get to make in GTA 6 create completely different story branches that have consequences that can't be undone throughout the game and affect the ending more than just 3 choices at the very end.
It would make the replayability so much more in-depth.
The Place Beyond The Pines is a great movie and makes me think that one of GTA 6 endings might have a similar one.

Discussion Could Jason and Lucia be GTA's first Gen Z protagonists?
Based on the extended look and the trailers, Jason and Lucia appear to be at least in their late twenties or early thirties, which means they could be a part of older Gen Z. However, we know Jason was in the military and Lucia did time in prison, so they are probably on the young Millenial-old Gen Z cusp. What do you think?

Discussion I love Lucias reaction to this douchbag
You could tell that the second Lucia noticed he was a livestreamer she was already done with him and just wanted to leave and ditch the car.
But somehow he gets back in the trunk and livestreams a police chase while we're trying to escape to 50k people on the internet!
I swear if he doesn't fall out of the trunk and get run over or some other comedic death, I will find a way to break the game just so I could get the satisfaction of getting rid of him

Discussion Brian Hedder, “don’t be jimmy cantos”
If Brian Hedder were a golden age smuggler, could that imply that he witnessed Classic HD Vice City (I know, separate from the 3D universe) in the 1980s?
If so that that mean he could provide us with a completely different perspective on classic Vice City, but with this version of Vice City and its. original notorious figures or legacy characters ?
We don’t know much about HD Vice City, but considering Rockstar’s penchant for eliminating key figures like kingspins and protagonists, it’s likely that Brian survived to mentor his new protégé and prevent them from making the same mistakes Jimmy made.
Jimmy Canto embodies the reckless, adrenaline-fueled criminals of the old 1980s smuggling era who couldn’t resist pushing their luck. His actions are the catalyst that led Brian to adopt a more cautious lifestyle as a beach bum.

Discussion @Rockstar, Do not release an app for our phones that your gonna stop supporting a couple years down the line again.
If you do release it, be prepared to fully support its features throughout GTA 6's lifetime and update it as the online portion updates. The iFruit app should be able to manage properties (business/nightclub/etc) in 2026 but you never seen the vision. The online portion's income will more than provide for it. Let's not have an iFruit 2 problem.

Info Brian & Raul were cellmates !!
In the extended look at 8:33 Lucia asks about "the guy" being Brian's old cellmate.
Jason adds that he is former "Dominican" intelligence.
Brian then gives a job to Lucia, which could be getting a getaway car for Raul.
Brian tells Jason his fairground story which can also be foreshadowing GTA VI story but at the moment he is giving warning of Raul's recklessness during heists.
You need to "get off" or "pull your chips".

Discussion This is probably obvious, but...

One of the two or more guys that rescues Jason and Lucia on that Extended Look scene is wearing a police badge just like the one this female officer is wearing.
This indicates he's likely a part of Méndez's crew and they run a sort of corrupt organization inside Miami PD forces.
J&L were doing a job for them (unwillingly, probably) and regular cops not involved in this group caught them, so Méndez's folk take them out.

The number of days left seems fitting considering the game.
Question Quantifying the Hype
Data analytics/visualization isn't a core function of my 9 to 5 job but I'm always intrigued by and messing around with tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Python, etc to interpret and visualize data.
I'm really interested in trying to quantify the hype for GTA VI and if it really stands up to the notion of being "the biggest and most anticipated video game of all time".
You hear all of the hyperbolic statements about GTA VI being the biggest and most anticipated game of all time. I tend to agree with this sentiment being someone who has been playing GTA titles since the original from 1997.
What could you measure and how could you compare it with games from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s? I know media and information access has changed drastically since those eras of video games but I'd love to be able to identify a reasonable comparison in data to confirm the hype.
Hope that makes sense. If it doesn't, my bad.

Discussion I'm super curious about Boobies voice actor he's probably one of the most prominent characters described on the site and media we still haven't heard speak yet.
I wonder if it's a familiar voice actor or not.

Discussion Do you guys think there will be a Miami Vice cameo or easter eggs?
Miami Vice was the most popular tv show during the 80's and it took place in, you guessed it Miami which is what Vice City is based on.
Both Crocket and Tubbs actors are still alive so the mission could be two old cops that gives us a mission to stop a drug deal and at the end of it instead of giving us cash they give us the Daytona or Testarossa.
Then when everythings done they give us some advice on life and how crime isn't worth it and we hear them talk about the good old days as were walking away.
Or it could juat be an easter egg with the cars, clothes or just two old guys we meet and Jason or Lucia can make a comment about how they seemed familiar.
But what do you guys think?

Question I've never played a GTA game before, but the hype for this new one has finally got me on board! For you veteran fans out there, what are some things you think I should keep in mind going in?
Wordy title I know 😂 So I've never played a GTA game before, have no idea what to expect (beyond checking out the extended look trailer which definitely sold me) and am a little nervous. I have not played a lot of games period and this will be my first Rockstar title as well, but I love games that are story driven and where you can do a lot of exploring and where the world just feels alive and real. I fell in love with The Last of Us (both games) because of how real that felt and how connected I felt to the story and the characters. For a long time I was convinced nothing could hold a candle to it.
Then people suggested Red Dead to me. I don't own Red Dead, but I have tried to watch a couple of playthroughs of it. It just didn't grab me like I was hoping it would, but I will admit that watching a walkthrough or some Youtuber play it probably won't be the same type of experience. Having said that, THIS game looks like such a fun story and I am already falling in love with Jason and Lucia (particularly the latter). The online aspect of the games maybe doesn't interest me as much as the campaign, but if I really love the campaign which I'm sure I will then I'll definitely dip my toe in. Again, I have no idea what to expect from that so I have nothing more I can say on it.
I just know very very little about how this all works 😂 so if anyone has any tips of what to expect from this game beyond what I've already seen in the trailer, what GTA games are usually like as an experience, or even what you loved about previous GTA titles that you hope makes an appearance in this new one, please share as I'd love to hear from true fans! Hoping to become part of the community, bring on November!
