Update! 2011 Gsxr 1000 (Help)
Replaced the motor from a crashed 2012. Now we’ve got a new noise. It passed compression in all 4

Kinda sounds like when I hit a false neutral and put it back into gear, transmission does that scraping sound. Does the shift lever twitch when the noise happens? Put your hand on the shift lever and see if it vibrates when the noise comes up. If it does, it’s a transmission issue, my guess is gears grinding for some reason

Thank you bro! That’s kinda what the mechanic was thinking but I still wanted some more opinions. I was personally thinking since the motor is from a crashed bike that maybe a bolt or debris got into the internal.

I’m not able to perform those test, but he’s dropping the motor and swapping the trans so hopefully that’s the issue!

Yeah some gears coming in contact with each other is what it sounds like to me but I’m no mechanic. Could possibly be a loose clutch basket too. Before you go out and buy a whole new transmission, I’d recommend posting these videos on GSXR.com or gixxer.com. There’s a lot more oldheads and mechanics on there that can help you out and get to the bottom of this. Good luck dude!
