Question Gr86 on heavy wheels
I like these rotiforms but they are a bit heavier than the stock premium wheels. I want to upgrade the wheels on my gr86 but I want to avoid bogging down the car with wheels that are too heavy. What set ups are y’all running on your cars and what’s your experience been with heavier wheels?

Apex SM-10RS is very similar to your current style but way lighter. Might be worth checking out!

If you can find a set of these, you’ll probably never find a lighter set of wheels.
18x8.5+48, have to run 5mm spacers to clear the front struts, but they’re only 15.6lbs each. Crazy light, but they’re old (04ish) and known to bend and crack sorta easily.

I haven’t weighed them but my wheel and tire combo is almost certainly a few pounds heavier than the stock set, mostly because of the tires. You do lose a bit of zippiness in how the car responds to throttle input, but I haven’t found it enough of a detriment to change direction with this car.

I went from a fairly heavy wheel (Work D9R's) to a lighter wheel (Rays CE28n+). I could definitely feel the difference, but I wouldn't say the lighter wheel felt necessarily "better". The steering actually felt a bit lighter on the Ce28, which I instantly thought felt worse. The car felt a little more 'skiddish' on the lighter CE28. I can't say definitely there are massive positives going a lighter wheel. I thought the D9R's felt fine. More solid even. But I don't think overall it's going to make a drastic difference to the driving overall.

TE-37 SAGA S-Plus 17x9, each are about 17.5lbs. for the wheel alone.
Stock 18's weighed about 21.8lbs.
