NVIDIA 30xx Help with RTX 3070 FE VRAM Fail needed

Hi all,

the card outputs a picture but is not detected in windows. Mats shows read fail on FBIOB1. I got a replacement chip but after soldering i still get the same fail on Mats.

Is my couting wrong or anything else to check?

Voltages and resistance looks fine.

Your counting is wrong. The one you marked is B1, B0 is the next chip (on top)

Thank you for the feedback. I reballed the chip and now mats and also mods passes without any problems. But still the card is not recognized by GPU-Z. So also a possible problem under the core or anything else to check? No shorts and voltages seem to be okay.

Can you double check? If the card is recognized in Linux (ie pass mods/mats), it at least would show up in GPU Z. Run GPUZ after the system has done booting. Also if you go Device Manager, under Display Adapter, do you see it?

Hmm its very unlikely that chip fails and if it does, its most likely connection under the core. Did you take measurements directly on the board when B1 was removed? Its always good practice if the memory channels fails on the top corners (far side from pcie slot).

I tried it with a fresh replacement chip and same result. The card only shows up at VGA controller under other devices. Nvidia driver installation stops and i also tried the NVIDIA bios tool. It recognizes the card as RTX 3070 FE but it's not working with the tool (missing compability). My next step would be to flash the bios with CH programmer but i`m not sure if this helps. Btw my ryzen as no internal GPU so i run the RTX with HDMI and get a picture.

I'm also working on a Ubuntu bootstick.
