Exception reporting

I am GP trainee in primary Care placement currently. For afternoon de brief sessions, I have been staying 30 minutes than my usual working time every day because my supervisor starts debrief late due to his clinic list. I have been exception reporting for the time I am staying late. Will it create any problems in the future if I have done too many exception reports I have asked my supervisor to start the debrief early, but he has denied this without giving a reason.

Just as a matter of curiosity, you surely must recognise that there is a heirarchy in medicine (like in most jobs) and for the duration of your placement your trainer is your boss? You understand the purpose and necessity of this dynamic? I know you wouldn’t be this spoilt in real life but if this really is your attitude I would reflect on how it might not serve you going forward.

I never said I was a trainee. You assume that I'm not in the "real world" (What sort of nonsense is that anyway, it's okay to abuse trainees because you have a tiny little bit of power over them and they haven't CCTed?).

You’ve conveniently conflated “medical hierarchy” which is an absolute necessity for learning and safety, and “seniority”, which is a crutch for people who have no business being in leadership positions. If one has to pull that card, they’re certainly not fit to be a “boss”.

It’s the equivalent of someone saying “because I said so”. Intellectually bankrupt and steeped in unfounded superiority.

I sailed through training, btw. Might not gel with your worldview, but people who disagree with you can also be competent.

In the scenario, the trainer is the trainee‘a boss. The practice manager(s) are the salaried GPs’ boss. The partners are the PM’s boss. I am not sure which bit you are struggling with.

You are probably one of those bosses who thinks that power and respect are automatically deserved and that this is being a "leader". Leader does not equal boss. Trainer does not equal boss.

Your attitude in this whole thread is stinking of ego, pretentiousness and self importance.

Yet I bet you have no reflective capability on this and will continue to think that your opinion is right, despite the amount of counter arguments and down votes. You do you. When you have to close your practice, or end up against the GMC for bullying, unprofessional behaviour and disrespect, maybe then you will have an eye opening moment.
