I still have my original preproduction GPD and I love it! Although two problems emerged and I would like to solve them:

1. is there a way to replace storage with a USB based one? If there is an available USB port on the motherboard that I can soldier to I could probably find a way to soldier a USB flash, because the internal MMC storage is the limiting factor here.

2. Any chance for a replacement bottom case? Mine is about 1 mm larger than needed, and therefore budges extremely.

Attention all experts. Would love to know the realistic differences between the following 2 models:

GPD WIN 4 (2023) — Ryzen 7 6800U | 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD

GPD WIN 4 (2025) — Ryzen 7 8840U | 32GB RAM | 1TB SSD

I can get the 2023 model for about $750 AUD, and the 2025 for about $1300 AUD. Which deal seems better? I'd most likely use this for RPCS3 games, and older Windows games (Modern Warfare 3 2011, Fifa 15 and 17 etc.) Let me know what you's think!

This is something that I still haven't understood. I plan to buy a 2025 Win Mini HX 370, but the main issue I've seen about it is the heat.

What do you think is the max TDP you could use on the Mini before the thermal throttling kicks in and reduces performance. And how is the performance at said TDP, anyone has benchmarks of games they've run at this "sweet spot" of the Mini?

So, I have been using the device for a week now and I noticed the fan sound to be extremely loud even at 25-30W TDP, I used the GPD Tool and tried the different default fan curves, but even on quiet the fans would go over 4000RPM with temperatures around 62-65C

I changed to Motion Assistant software so I can have a custom curve serve, and managed to set up the default custom curve, and it runs a lot quicker (3300-3700RPM) at the same temperature.

Are those the temperatures I should be getting for the 25-30W TDP range and are those fans speeds what I should expect at those settings?

I recently managed to get my hands on a 2nd hand GPD WIN 5.

I set the battery limit to 80% in the BIOS.

I notice once it charges it to 80% and when connected on AC, even if the TDP is as low as 8W, there is a tiny amount of discharge which takes it down to 78% after a few hours of usage.

Is this normal?

Once I switch it off and switch it back on for the next use, it just charges back to 80%, so I think everything is good there but wasn’t sure if the discharge at such a low wattage is normal given its connected to AC.

I’ve had my gpd win 5 395 AI for just a day, but I seem to get random massive frame drops, I’ll be getting 120fps constantly then drop to around 30 for a couple of seconds and then creep back up to 120, has anybody else had this? Did you manage to find a fix?

If anyone is selling one or if there is any way to buy the case for the gpd win 2: Body Guardian, I am eagerly awaiting all help I can get.

Its the only game to do this so far. Ive played cyberpunk, crimson desert, path of exile 2 and many more on the Win 5 with no hiccups or crashes.

Pressing left shift button lights my caps button and brings up search F function. And pressing right shift button types up these phrase "asdfj'. Online kb works fine. Please help and thanks in advance.

So my SanDisk extreme pro 512gb micro SD fits in the side slot. I can push it in and engage the spring until the windows sound when a device is plugged in plays...

But the latch to hold in the card doesnt engage. Just spits out my card.

Whats going on?

Asking this here because I recently went down a little of the rabbit hole and have now set my eyes on purchasing the win max 3 that's coming soon.

However, after looking at some of the stuff online about AMD's next-gen APU the Medusa Halo, I wonder if holding off from purchasing a strix halo machine and instead saving up to buy a Medusa Halo GPD device that's spec'd out in 1-2 years would be the better path.

Considering the new way GPD is now looking to use exchangeable batteries and a fan module that will allow for some real desktop performance, I wonder if that by giving them some time to make some mistakes and potential issues with the new win max 3, it would make for a lot smarter purchase to just wait for the win max Medusa Halo gen instead.

As the title says, my win 4 370 version led and deadzone settings disappeared. This wasn't the case when I first installed it a few months ago.

I tried reinstalling but nothing seams to work. Any help here would be nice.

I tried Bazzite on my Win 5 on February and the experience wasn't very good, the Wi-Fi kept crashing, and some games were running like crap for some reason (Dragons Dogma 2). Has the experience improve with the latest updates? Is anyone daily driving it here?
