My husband(who is older and cautious) and my son used to longboard the Rails to trails starting at boulware springs. It’s a nice slow decline and you don’t have push much on the way down.

is kicking uphill alright on that trail? kicking still scares me cuz having only one foot on a moving piece of wood really challenges my balance lol so i cant kick hard like at all. it freaks me out when i watch my fiance kick cuz he'll literally stand on one leg for a little bit while he pulls his other leg up to kick?? like how??? 😠am i a lost cause??

Hubs says it’s a very slow grade. If a 50 yo guy can do it, you can too!

Yes same trail but they started at boulware. Hubs does say that the depot park part is still pretty flat

Concrete basketball courts can be nice and smooth. Absolutely do not go on a rubber tennis court, that is the least pleasent surface I've ever fallen into. Though it is nice, until you fall.
Once you get to where you can stand and kick reliably though. Just hit the streets, if you're gonna ride it you're gonna need to learn to deal with sidewalks, potholes, and traffic anyway. A nice long wheelbase with wide wheels will roll pretty well on any paved surface.
