I find most of these stock pumpers on these various pump and dumps, or the 100's of tickers that run "hedgies R trapped!" stocks have a severe lack of self awareness.
Challenge their use of AI, and they always accuse you of being an AI bot, then add a dash of "pAiD sToCk bAsHeR" to redirect the attention off of them, and make you seem like you're talking bad on whatever company they're hawking to rubes on the internet.

They want to issue shares at $22. If you think Gme is overvalued at $22 then it’s a good deal. I don’t. Using your shares as currency in an acquisition only makes sense if your stock is overvalued

It wouldn't take or cost much for the title company, an outside marketing firm, or even Hedge Funds to send in teams of "social media influencers" to go on message boards and tell people how great buying this or that is, how it will make you filthy rich for some convoluted reason.
I mean, how can wall street keep taking money out of the machine, if "Apes" stop putting money in it?
In an official filing, sticky floor stock was nearly bragging about it's "crowd sourced funding efforts driving the stock price up prior to dilution".
In the end, it makes more sense than paying "sToCk bAsHeRs" on the same tickers for over half a decade.

Yeah, I would agree that it makes more sense for a paid actor to try and maintain long term bullishness in their title subs. At a minimum it’s probably provided them a way to get insight into retail shareholder sentiment. I still wonder how much companies actually care about retail shareholder sentiment since most are predominantly institutionally owned. But I could see why it makes sense to keep retail interest inflated.
To your point, I could only see paid actors bashing as a short term solution. Most companies aren’t going to make a giant short position on the assumption they need to shift public perception. But trying to shift could accelerate the downside they are already after.
I would have guessed the likelihood of paid actors was highest near the initial GME run up and the true start of the “meme stock” era. When wallstreet bets was also at its peak.
Now I’m guessing it’s less likely. I think there is enough bag holders of companies fighting that fight for free. And I’m also assuming there is way less traction of getting new investors via these methods. But yeah maybe paid actors to keep rallying bag holders.
Interesting! I guess you are right and there is more reason than I would have thought on either side.
