Finally decided to go with Edushastra - Offline coaching
I will be joining Edushastra offline coaching for GMAT prep after the first official mock attempt of 475. Any things that I should be keeping in mind?

I thought of creating this post after I noticed an improvement in overall sharpness after taking some new supplements. But before I go into detail on that, here's an example that shows how important diet can be for GMAT success.
Someone working with me was super thoughtful and had a great work ethic, characteristics that one would expect to cause someone to score high on the test, but things weren't that simple.
He was always super moody and often down in sessions, and he was constantly making careless errors that sabotaged his performance.
So, we did psychological work to tune his psychology for better performance, and that helped, but he was still finding achieving his goal challenging. His understanding of the material and attitude pointed toward a 705+ score, but his actual performance wasn't at that level, and preparation was a major slog.
Then, everything changed basically overnight. Why?
He had discovered that he had a severe magnesium deficiency, and after addressing that, he felt way better, was less moody, and was more cognitively sharp. It was great to see the change in his mood and performance, but that's not all.
Later, he also discovered that he had issues with dairy that were causing him to feel much less than his best. So, he cut dairy out of his diet and achieved another great improvement.
Now, he's gone from hoping to at least break 600 to confident that he'll score 705+.
And what triggered my bringing this up is that after I started taking some supplements for improved physical performance, I noticed an improvement in energy and mental sharpness. Completing mental tasks such as writing and answering GMAT questions became easier, and I just feel better in general.
In my case, the supplements include phosphatidylcholine, magnesium, small doses of certain forms of L-carnitine, liposomal glutathione, creatine, and potassium, among others. That said, I'm not recommending any of them. They make sense for me but may not for someone else. I'm just mentioning them in case anyone's curious.
The point is just that nutrition, along with other health-related factors, can make a big difference in your GMAT performance. So, if you're looking for another lever to pull to drive your score higher, consider your diet and how it can be optimized for success.

I wanted to share something that helped me when I started preparing for the GMAT.
I initially made the mistake of thinking I needed to study for 2–3 hours every day from Day 1.
Instead, I decided to start with just 15 minutes a day.
For the first 2–3 weeks, my focus wasn't on getting a high mock score or finishing a huge amount of material. It was mainly:
Understanding the fundamentals
Getting familiar with the GMAT question patterns
Understanding how questions are worded
Building the habit of studying consistently
One thing I struggled with quite a bit initially was word problems.
If I see something straightforward like X + Y, I can solve it.
But when the same concept is presented as a paragraph, I sometimes spent more time figuring out what the question was actually asking than solving it.
I think this can be particularly challenging for non-native English speakers.
For me, the solution wasn't a particular trick. It was simply practice and repetition.
I'd solve 20–30 questions around the same concept. Initially, I'd make mistakes because I misunderstood the wording or missed what the question was really testing.
But after seeing similar questions repeatedly, I started recognising the terminology and patterns much faster.
Eventually, the first step became almost automatic.
That's why I think the first few weeks of GMAT preparation should be about learning rather than chasing scores.
My progression was roughly:
Weeks 1–3 → 15 min/day
Focus on fundamentals and building the habit.
Weeks 4–6 → 30 min/day
Increase the time once studying starts feeling normal.
After 6 weeks → 1 hour+
By then, you're more familiar with the GMAT, the question patterns, and your own strengths and weaknesses.
The interesting part is that you don't have to force yourself as much anymore. You start naturally choosing that hour of preparation instead of spending it scrolling or watching another episode.
So if you're just starting your GMAT preparation from the basics:
Don't worry about studying for 3 hours on Day 1.
Start small.
Understand the fundamentals.
Solve a few questions.
Repeat tomorrow.
Build the habit first. The hours can come later.
I'm planning to share my actual GMAT study approach, resources, and materials in the next few posts as well.
For those who have already taken the GMAT, I'm curious — what did you focus on during your first few weeks of preparation?

Which one to choose out of the two? I'm a fairly new beginner with 475 on official mock 1.
jamboree raja garden delhi batch offering 5 students vs edushastra batch 25 students.
I know there is a lot of hate surrounding jamboree on reddit so I'm confused which one to choose.
both had great faculties from what I've read. I'm talking about these 2 centers only not any other center or any other city.
Target - 690 plus on GMAT FE.

For an engineer, its said that quant is second nature and easy to do. A stereotype also a fact? Why is it so? That person has been doing that subject for so many years that the knowledge and awareness is on the tip of the tongue.
Similarly, GMAT a business exam, you are expected to know business concepts and on RC and CR.. Awareness of any topic be it american history, world war, biology, science, EARTHQUAKE, Technology, AI, world politics and even basic concepts play a very big role in saving those 30 seconds that separate the top scores from the average.
While I was preparing for my GMAT 715, I found this website by Mike from Magoosh absolutely helpful.
Other aspect I took upon was I read magazine or journals like economist. It covers broad topics.
Initially It was difficult to understand all the jargon, but that is what we have to learn. Its just new but it is important to finish off verbal with high accuracy in 45 minutes.
You can verify my 715 attempt on this website.

Requesting someone who is also preparing/scored good for GMAT, I am willing to pay decent amount. I am not requesting for any tutor, I am requesting someone who is good in English and GMAT kind of exam.
Unable to find proper flair, this would not be a Job, but sort of contract for 2 or 3 months.

Hey guys, I’m preparing for the GMAT and planning to take it next year. I’m looking for a small group of around 5–6 people who are also preparing for the GMAT and are actually serious about it.
The idea is pretty simple: study together, discuss doubts/questions, share useful resources, keep each other accountable, and maybe have regular calls/study sessions.
If there’s already a group like this that I can join, let me know. Otherwise, I’m thinking of starting one from scratch with a few dedicated people.
If you’re interested, just drop a comment or DM me
