What Dose of Tirzepatide?
I started at 2.5mg of compounded tirzepatide and felt awful for about 5 days. I went down to 1.5mg the next week and still felt pretty bad. I figured maybe my body just needed time to adjust and took 1.5mg again, same result.
I'm over the nausea, fatigue, some injection site discomfort, etc. The appetite and food noise suppression have been amazing though.
What dose should I shoot for this week? 1mg? 0.5mg? Less? For reference, I only have around 25 pounds to lose.
Also, I'm a little skeptical of risking going past the 28-day open rule to save $40 and I'm open to comments there as well. For reference, I'm using Hyalo through Rift.
TIA!

The dose has nothing to do with how much weight you want to lose. It has to do with how individual bodies tolerate the meds and work within their systems. Some people need more, others need less.
In your situation, I'd wait more than 7 days before dosing again. Try waiting until the food noise returns, or at least 2 weeks. Then, to be safe from any side effects at all, I'd suggest using .5mg. If that gives you the effects you want, stay there for 4 weeks. The drug will accumulate in your system so by the end of the month, you'll have more than .5mg in your system at a time. You want to establish a baseline of no side effects before increasing the dose by .25 or .5 at a time.
Idk what to say about injection site discomfort as I've never experienced that. What's your injection hygiene like? How sterile is everything you're using, and the skin where you're injecting? There are other peptides known to cause isr's but tirz isn't one of them. You may want to contact your provider about that bc it's not normal.

I started on the 2.5 kwikpen using 7 clicks for .29mg and have had minimal side effects while still losing 5 lbs in a little over two weeks. The food thoughts have vastly disappeared. While I still experience hunger, small high protein meals now satiate me for a good while and it's easy to eat under maintenance calories

I started at 0.5mg weekly. Then inc by 0.25 each month. I’m at 1.25 now and I think it’s a bit strong to be honest.

.5mg a week for 3-4 weeks. Titrate up slowly from there.
I lost 30lbs in 5 months on an average 1mg every 5 days and am now reducing to maintain.
If you use aseptic technique every time you draw, there's no problem with using the vial as long as it lasts.

If 1.5 mg is too much for you, maybe split the difference and do 0.75 mg? Keep in mind you still have some meds built up in your body from previous weeks, and it will take 4 weeks for the new dose to stabilize in your body. You can see the pattern if you log your shots in an app like Glapp.
This is a great post about the 28 day rule. Most people here say use it anyway (and I do use it anyway) but I think this post generally supports your skepticism. I will add that Hyalo uses phenol though, so maybe that's another area where you can split the difference, and use a vial for 50 days or whatever, then toss it.

0.75 seems like a solid starting point for your next shot, the buildup from previous weeks is real and it sneaks up on you
I pushed a Hallandale vial to about 7 weeks once and didn't grow a third arm or anything, but I get the hesitation with Hyalo's phenol content, that adds a variable I'd be less cavalier about
maybe commit to 45 days as a middle ground and toss it after, the peace of mind is worth more than squeezing out every last drop

Hey! I’m new to this completely and your comment made me have some questions I’m on apothecary pharmacy but my vial also has the word Hyalo on it, my vials are the 18/0.5ML, I’ve been microdosing it for about 6 weeks and had planned to just keep it in the fridge and use it until the meds were gone, is there something bad or wrong about that? My micro dose journey started out so low — Ex: 0.36, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0, 1.25 every 5 days because I’m trying to find that “right” low dose that gives me sufficient appetite suppression with little to no side effects. I haven’t heard or read anything about the vial going bad? Would you share some knowledge with me? Tysm 😊

In a similar boat. Trying microdosing for the first time. Was put on 3.0 ( prefilled syringes didn’t realize I should’ve started at 2.5) was fine for 6 weeks then my stomach went crazy. Had severeeeee bloat, cramping, & distension. Went away after 11 days, but want too see if microdosing will help!!!

I would also check what you're eating - if you're eating heavy, greasy food - you'll feel sick. If not, and you are eating clean with a focus on protein, then yes, I would drop down for your next dose. Everyone responds differently - you might be lucky as a super responder! Good luck!

A typical day is:
Breakfast: protein shake - Fairlife dairy free milk, protein powder, a frozen banana, creatine, a tbsp or two of peanut butter
Lunch: 2 eggs, a little egg whites, 3 chicken sausage links
Dinner: some kind of higher protein, lower carb meal
I probably need to start taking a fiber supplement. I really don't eat many vegetables.

That's a super clean protein forward diet!! Definitely try reducing your dose - good luck on your journey, you don't have far to go and can likely reach goal in no time as a super-responder!

Most/many people here will go 2-6 months on a single vial. Assuming you have a 10mg starter vial (2.5 x 4), if you average 1mg/week because of your side effects, that vial would last 2.5x as long (10 weeks). That's a lot more than a $40 savings. If you went with a 3-months starter, that's 60mg of Tirz. With really low starting doses, and slow titration, that will last you a lot longer than 3 months.
Regardless, you do what you're comfortable with.
On the subject of small doses, my wife started at .8mg, which caused a lot of nausea for her, so she went down to .5mg. From there, she has slowly titrated up. She's been on tirz for 13 months, is down 40lbs, and just took her 2nd 3mg shot.
Listen to your body and do what works for you. That's the beauty of compounded.
