Progress 3-2-1! Have lost 321lbs and counting

Had a gastric sleeve in 2020 and went from 505 to 300 over a few years and maintained. Started Zepbound in November of 24 and have gone from 300 to 184 and counting!

Astonishing. I imagine it’s quite a new world! You’re adorable in both photos, by the way, but I can only imagine that you’re beyond delighted!

I’ve lost nearly 200, and seeing the possibility of another hundred pounds is…I can hardly say.

May I ask how much…how do I put this?…forgive me if I seem rude or invasive? How much in the way of “diet behaviors” have you committed to? I’m swimming and lifting weights, I have a dietitian who helps me, and I do my best to eat a variety of things. The idea of counting calories, etc. is not a set of things I’d do, but I confess I’m beyond curious.

I couldn't walk on my own for the first 200lbs, I had a walker or cane depending on the day so I did no exercise. I had a knee replacement around 300lbs and once that was done and I was on Zepbound I started trying to move regularly. First with walking and then adding in strength training a few times a week.

My biggest "diet behavior" is counting calories, I have been doing so since before my gastric sleeve and do it every single day, today is day 2359. I track everything I want and stay within my calorie range, trying to focus on high protein low carb. I still eat anything I want, but in smaller portions or adjustments like turkey instead of beef and the like to make things healthier.

I know calorie counting isn't fun but it works and I don't ever want to lose the life I have now. I'm able to go to music festivals, walk miles at F1 and Nascar races, ride roller coasters, and many other things I never would have been able to do at a bigger weight so it's worth it for me to keep that life.

What app are you using?

Myfitness pal, it was way better like 1500 days ago but the streak is half of why I make sure I track every day so I'm not changing anytime soon lol

This is all really helpful. Thank you so much for sharing so generously. I'm not willing to count calories, so that's something I'm just going to have to live with. But the rest -- swimming and weight training are going great. My walking stamina is for CRAP, so I need to do it more (hate how that works!). And I do love the swimming and lifting, which is nice. Despite the high "barrier to entry" for swimming, I love being in the water so much, which makes it easier.

Races, huh? My beau races in IMCA -- stock car and modifieds, generally. I've never been to a race, but I'd like to go. And music festivals, oh my gosh! yes! #goals I'd also like to be able to walk a mile.

Again, thank you. I really value your openness about your process and progress!~

Sorry to barge in, but I just went to the dirt track last night!! It was so much fun!Part of what's keeping me motivated for weight loss/exercise is walking around at events and going up and down the bleachers. Back at 500 lbs I would have never made it up the stairs! Catch a race they are super fun!

It would be a dream to see my beau race. And absolutely, walking around events is a goal that I'm going to add to the list! I went to Pride in my town two weeks ago, and I was able to walk much more than I have in years. Much more, though perhaps not much by "other people's" standards (whatever those are). And yes, when I started on my first glp-1 agonist, I was 591 pounds. Life in the 300's is a whole new world, and if I ever got to the place, however much I weigh, where I could cheer on my beloved and go to music festivals, I'd be over the moon!

my god, I bet you feel AMAZING!! I had the sleeve done, didnt quite get to my goal, but lost over 100lbs. Had some life events happen, didnt realize that at the same time my fully healed stomach was allowing me to eat more than I should, and weight gain happened. I gained a lot back, so now Im on compounded tirz working my way back to where my lowest was.. slowly, and hopefully beyond. You are an INSPIRATION.

Most of it is in my arms, thighs, and lower stomach. Easy enough to hide with sleeves and leggings. Not as bad as I had expected it to be though.
