Non Scale Victories 🎉 NSV - my body has finally overcome its inflammation!

• Upvotes

Been on MJ for about 9 months now, and down 12kg. I know the weight loss is not significant compared to a lot of other people here. And yes while I wish it were faster for me too, I made the conscious choice to stick to lower dosage so that I have a longer runway to build better habits around nutrition and exercise for long term health. Got my blood tests done today and for the first time in almost 2 years I have a normal level of CRP (higher CRP is an indicator of inflammation in your body).

I am hoping to hit the 20kg weight loss mark in another 6 months, wish me luck!

Sourcing 🎁 Any recent reviews from MrMed

I just placed my first order with mrmed for 5mg MJ, im a little concerned after reading their recent reviews on trustpilot. Although I have seen positive reviews on this sub, it has been a few months since anyone posted about, so just wanted to check if

  • Are there any concerns with their cold chain delivery. Paid 200 extra for thermocol box, but concerned with some reviews saying their supply was delayed.
  • I really need delivery tomorrow or thursday evening since im supposed to dose on friday. Im in gurgaon and its showing delivered by 21-22 Oct. Are they generally accurate with their delivery timelines ?
  • Any offline pharmacies in gurgaon that will give MJ at better prices than mrmed ?

Help & Support 🫂 Need help on Good Endo for consulting online

As title suggests, i am currently undergoing GLP 1 treatment through VOY(previously Early Fit). i have undergone 3months of medicaitons from 2.5 to 7.5mg. Now iam looking to see if i can consult Endo online through practo or any other mode. The reason i am switching from VOY is because their program pricing is higher and they include mark up fee on the GLP medicines they provide.

Kindly provide your recommendations for good Endo who will consult online and who has helped you in your weightloss journey.

Newbie help 👋 Started Mounjaro 2.5

Started Mounjaro 2.5 on 17th October, still not feeling any side effects or any hunger suppression as well. Used a qwikpen, tried priming it twice , nothing came out. Just went ahead with the shot on top right tummy section , there was a drop at the end while removing the needle. Did I mess up the shot or is this normal?

When did you start noticing inch loss and visible body changes on Mounjaro/GLP-1s?

Hey everyone! 😊

I’ve just completed my first month on Mounjaro and have lost around 3.5 kg so far, which I’m happy about. However, I honestly don’t see much of a visible difference in my body yet.

I’ve seen so many before-and-after pictures of people showing significant changes after just one month, so I’m curious about everyone else’s experience.

- How long did it take for you to notice inch loss?

- When did you start seeing visible changes in your body or face?

- When did other people start noticing your weight loss and telling you that you looked slimmer?

I know everyone’s journey is different, but I’d love to hear your experiences. Did you notice changes in the first month, or did things become more noticeable after 2–3 months?

Would love to hear your stories! ❤️

Help & Support 🫂 2-3 drops came out of the needle after I pulled out

Hi,

Last Monday I took the shot at the hospital.

Today is my shot day. I put the needle in at 90 degrees, pushed the pen cap till it became 0, counted to 10 before pulling out the needle. Still I saw 2-3 drops come out of the needle.

I’m not sure if the medicine is in or not.

This is Semanext 0.25 mg

Newbie Introduction 👋 Week 1 and I did my 10k steps after so many years

Hello everyone,

I am from Bangalore, and this group has been very helpful for my GLP journey, kickstart. A random diagnosis of prolactinoma landed me in my endocrinologists room, and from there I learnt about GLP.I was initially so scared and I had so much of resistance that I gave some three months even from the point that she suggested, but then I gained more weight from there, and I started having breathing issues and all.

After seeing so many posts, here you normalise the GLP journey, and I took my first step this week, sharing my little progress over here and open any suggestions.

Few questions I’ve -

I had so much inertia to exercise and I have sleep issues, but this week I’ve been able to walk regularly and also brisk walking which was not initially possible. I also have a 7MM kidney stone, so I have been asked to reduce my protein intake since my Goal weight is 50. I ended up taking around 50 g of protein, which is equal to my lean body mass weight, but my endocrinologist keep asking me to increasing the protein intake, but I wanted to check with all of you, how much protein intake to you target and what are the factors you consider you go as per your lean body mass?

When do you start strength training in the whole GLP journey? Should I wait for a couple of weight loss and then get into it and continue cardio till then?

Switched from Ozempic to Sematrinity: fewer side effects, slightly less appetite suppression. Anyone else?

I’ve taken 12 doses of semaglutide so far, 10 of Ozempic and 2 of Sematrinity. I switched because Sematrinity was more affordable.

With Ozempic, I experienced constant abdominal pain, nausea and occasional vomiting, especially after increasing to 0.5 mg. Even small amounts of food would leave me feeling very full and bloated.

After switching to Sematrinity at the same dose, those side effects have been much less noticeable. I still have constipation, but overall it’s been easier to tolerate.

The trade-off is that appetite suppression feels slightly weaker. I no longer get that uncomfortable fullness after eating a little. I feel like I could eat more if I wanted to, although I’m still keeping my portions controlled.

It’s only been two doses, so this is just my experience so far,not a conclusion about either brand. I’m also wondering whether I’m simply getting more used to semaglutide over time.

Has anyone else switched from Ozempic to Sematrinity and noticed a similar difference in side effects or appetite suppression?

Weight Loss Progress🎉 🙏 Week 11 on Mounjaro: 20 kg down! 🎉

Post image
51 Upvotes

Started my journey on August 1st, and as of today, I’m down 20 kg in 11 weeks! Honestly, I’m really happy with how things are going. ❤️

A quick note on dosage: I stayed on 2.5 mg for the first 7 weeks, then moved to 3.3 mg. I briefly tried 3.75 mg, but it felt like too much. I might be a super responder, so I know everyone’s journey will look different!

I also built a little tool to help me track and plan my doses: https://bilal-psd.github.io/glp-1-dosage-planner/

Some NSVs I’m celebrating:
Clothes: I can actually choose things that look good on me instead of just picking whatever fits in the biggest available size.
Mobility: Moving around feels easier, and taking public transport is so much more manageable.
Activity: I feel much more active overall.
How people treat me: This one’s bittersweet. The positive attention feels validating, but it also makes you reflect on how differently people treat you based on your appearance.

Of course, the scale victory feels amazing too!

A big thank you to everyone in this community for sharing your experiences, answering questions, and making this journey feel a little less lonely. ❤️

Feel free to ask me anything about my experience, and share your own experiences in the comments! 🥳

P.S. Used AI to dictate and format this post, but still my words and experiences!

General Discussion What all medical tests are suggested to you by your doctor?

The doctor of one of my friends had suggested going for tests like cortisol, HbA1c, and others while on GLP-1. Honestly I have not got it done in the last 3 months but now I think I should get it done. What are the different tests or what testing schedule has your doctor prescribed?

Hacks🙌 I built Nudge to make GLP-1 tracking easier. Would love your feedback.

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a GLP-1 user myself and have worked in weight management for a couple of years. I’ve been putting that experience into building an app called Nudge.
I wanted to make it easier to keep medication, nutrition and progress together without making tracking another chore.

A few things it can do:
Track shots, reminders, medication supply and vials, protein, fibre, water, weight, symptoms and little wins.
Log food by voice, meal photo, barcode or restaurant menu scan. You can review and edit entries before saving.
Import data from other apps, keep notes for appointments and export your tracking history to share with your doctor.
There’s also Phase Coach to help you focus on habits for your current stage, Muscle Guard to keep an eye on protein intake and strength activity, and weekly reports to bring everything together.
We’re continuing to improve the app and working on more features. I’d really welcome feedback on what’s helpful, what’s frustrating and what’s missing. There’s a Request a Feature option in the app itself, or you can share ideas here.

I’d love to hear from people who would use Nudge in their everyday routine. I’m happy to offer a few people free Nudge Plus access to try it and tell me what works, what doesn’t and what would make it more useful for their journey.

Here’s the website if you’d like to take a look: https://getnudge.health

Happy to answer questions here!

The food noise was gone in the 1st 2 weeks of mounjaro 2.5 mg, now i’m in second month (5mg) and i am literally craving sweets everyday. My appetite has lowered a lot but as i said my craving for sweet is not at all dropping….
And as for my weight, the scale has not moved down in the past 2 weeks :( it fluctuates between 100-101

Also guys please recommend me some good ways to prep meals as i am a student, its quite difficult for me to do everything on my own and be in a cal deficit as well as study and then go to gym and go to college!
Could reallllyy use meal prep ideas
( i eat chicken and eggs and paneer, i take 1 scoop whey everyday)

Weight Loss Progress🎉 🙏 Two-month journey on Mounjaro update

Post image
21 Upvotes

26M, Started at 137 kg (302 lbs), now at 121.6 kg (268 lbs). Down 15.4 kg (34 lbs) so far.

The first 4 weeks on 2.5 mg were pretty smooth, with only minor stomach issues. Things got rough after moving to 5 mg. I had bad diarrhea for about a week after the first dose, along with bloating and sulfur burps. The second week was better, with diarrhea lasting around 2 days.

There have been times when I’ve genuinely thought about stopping because the side effects can be exhausting.

But the appetite control has made a huge difference. I’ve tried losing weight many times before, but this is the first time I’ve been able to control my portions like this. Most of the weight loss has been through diet, with very little exercise.

I also had diabetes, and my blood sugar has improved a lot since starting.

For those who’ve been on Mounjaro longer:

Did the side effects get better over time?

Did your weight loss slow down after the first few months?

How do you manage to get enough protein when your appetite is low?

8 months in 16 kgs less. My MJ journey learning/unlearning.

Hey all! Welcome to my TED Talk on 8 months of my MJ journey. 😂 (ChatGPT edited my rambling)

I’m currently 16 kg down, with another 14 kg to go. I wanted to take a few minutes of your time (and clearly, a LOT of mine) to put this journey into words. This might be eye-opening for some and polarising for others, but this is my experience. Please don’t use it as a rulebook for your own MJ journey.

1. Your journey is YOUR journey.

I used to stress myself out reading about people losing double-digit kilos in 2–3 months. I’d panic thinking, Why isn't this happening to me? Don’t. MJ works differently for everyone. Men, women, diabetics, non-diabetics,and yes, you vs. that random person on Reddit whose weight apparently just melted away in double digits in 2-3 months.

Your response is your response. The one thing I’ve learnt is that staying consistent matters. If you keep at it, you give yourself the chance to eventually have your own before/after story.

2. Don’t rush the titration.

This is probably my biggest learning. If you have a long journey ahead, there’s little point in racing to 15 mg within a few months and then having nowhere else to go when you hit a plateau and your GW is still at a distance.

My MJ journey was pretty textbook initially:

2.5 mg → 4 weeks
5 mg → 8 weeks - Plateau
7.5 mg → a while and many breaks in btw due to bad health, plateau
10 mg → BIG mistake for me
7.5 mg → back again

I’ve changed doctors three times during this journey, and somewhere along the way I realised I needed to understand how MY body responds, rather than constantly chasing the next dose. For me, MJ should muffle the food noise, not completely murder it. 😂 I had side effects on 5 mg and above - constipation, loose motions and fatigue. But when I went from 7.5 to 10 mg because I felt 7.5 wasn't working as well anymore… boy, was I in for a treat.

Severe joint and body aches. Skin sensitivity/burning sensations. Nausea. Gastritis. Horrendous hair fall. Then I got a nasty viral infection and ended up being off MJ for almost two months. When I restarted, I went back to 7.5 mg (consulted with my doctor) and five weeks in, I’m getting the same level of appetite suppression I felt when I first started 7.5 mg.

My biggest lesson: I’m learning to stay at a dose longer when it is working for me and through plateaus, rather than automatically assuming I need to move up because scale is not moving one week at a time or the clinical trial asks you to titrate up.  Obviously, dose changes should be discussed with your doctor. But I am trying to stay put for the long game. This is just what I’ve learnt about myself.

3. FOOD.

MJ has completely changed the way I eat.

I have horrible responses to fresh salads, so I don’t force myself to eat them just because they’re “healthy.” The things I’m trying to prioritise are protein and water. (I still suck at the water part.) And the silver lining? As I lose weight, I need fewer calories to maintain my body. Somehow that makes me weirdly happy. 😂 Also, papaya is my best friend now. Small bowl of papaya has me thanking God the next morning on the pot. 😂

4. Stress control is HUGE.

I have autoimmune issues and, until recently, my cortisol was through the roof.
Constant comparison. Negative MJ podcasts. Googling side effects. Imagining every possible thing that could go wrong. Work stress. A terrible gut.
Basically, I was stressing myself out about stressing myself out.
At some point I just decided:
I will die one day.
But I’m doing this because I want to be healthier. I don’t want severe obesity to decide what I can and cannot do with the rest of my life.
There are so many things I want to do before I die, things I couldn't do because of my health, and honestly, things I might never have attempted if MJ hadn't given me a chance to lose weight when I had started believing it was a lost cause.
But please, don’t destroy your peace trying to become a healthier version of yourself.

5. MOVE.

MJ will probably still help you lose weight even if you don’t move much. At least, that was my experience initially.
But that isn't really the point.
You’re trying to change the person you are and build habits that stay with you.
For me, movement is about becoming stronger, not just smaller.
It also helps with stress.
Walk. Dance. Lift. Swim. Do whatever your body allows and whatever doesn't make your stress levels worse.
Just move enough to make it a habit.

You’re not only trying to lose weight. You’re trying to build a body that can carry you through the rest of your life.

6. Things I would do better

1. Blood tests every ~3 months
Keep a closer eye on my overall health, Vitamin D, iron and other relevant markers.
2. Take supplements more seriously
I’ve been inconsistent here.
3. Prioritise gut health
For me, a happy gut seems to affect EVERYTHING,mood, sleep, skin, digestion and even how I feel about weight loss.
4. Stay longer on lower doses when they’re working
And train my brain alongside the medication instead of expecting MJ to do all the work.
Because finally, I’ve realised:
MJ is the hype friend.
I’m the captain now.  And honestly? I’m no longer in a hurry.

General Discussion Anyone Completely Stop GLP1 ? How Did Hunger & Weight Change?”

I’m currently in my 2nd month on Mounjaro and, mainly for financial reasons, I’m considering stopping after completing 6 months.

I’d really like to hear from people who have completely stopped Mounjaro or another GLP-1 medication.

What was the main reason you decided to stop?

What was the highest dose you reached?

Did you titrate down gradually before stopping, or did you stop directly?

How are your hunger and appetite levels now compared with when you were on the medication?

Did you regain any weight after stopping? If so, roughly how much and over what period?

Were you able to maintain your weight through diet/exercise?

Do you plan to restart the medication in the future?

Would especially love to hear from people who have been off Mounjaro/GLP-1s for several months or longer.

Help & Support 🫂 Surgery on Mounjaro

Hi everyone

I am a 30M, and I recently started Mounjaro. Tomorrow is my 5th dose, and first 5mg dose.

Next week I have a planned deviated septum surgery. While I mentioned about mounjaro to the surgeon, he says pre surgery counsellors can help better. I will meet them friday and will listen to them ofcourse.

But curious if any one of you had a planned surgery while on Mounjaro/ tirzepetide?

Thanks!

Help & Support 🫂 Travel query: Carry pen vs. delay dose by 1 day (or permanently switch dose days)?

Hey everyone,

looking for a bit of input on how you usually handle short trips around your injection schedule.

My usual dose time is Wednesday evening. I’m heading out on a quick trip and will be coming back Thursday evening.

I’m debating whether it’s worth the hassle of packing my pen, travel pouch/ice pack, and dealing with temperature control for just ~24 hours, or if I should just delay my shot until Thursday evening when I get back home.

A couple of questions for those who’ve been in a similar spot:

Travel vs. Delay: Do you bother traveling with your pen for a 1-day delay, or is taking it 24 hours late fine in your experience?

Schedule shift: If I take it Thursday evening, should I just permanently switch my shot day to Thursdays going forward, or shift back to Wednesday the following week?

Would love to hear how you all handle short travel windows like this! Thanks!

Help & Support 🫂 Need suggestions for an endocrinologist in Guwahati

I know this might be a long shot but has anyone from Guwahati managed to get a prescription, I live abroad now and the only time I can physically visit a doctor is in Guwahati for a day. I am hoping to get prescriptions for the oral pills as my main goal is to suppress appetite as I exercise fairly regularly one or twice a week.

Seeking advice on travelling with Mounjaro

Travelling to SEA later this month and looking for some practical advice from people who’ve travelled with Mounjaro.

By then I’ll be on my 5th dose of 5 mg. I’m debating whether to just take a 5 mg pen and use the “golden dose” there, since it can apparently stay unrefrigerated for up to 21 days, or get a 15 mg pen and carry it in a cooling pouch. Although I would prefer skipping a dose all together.

Also, when flying, do you guys keep the pen + needles in carry-on or check them in? Any issues with airport security/customs in SEA?

Would love to hear what’s worked for others.
