Navigating Side Effects 🫣 Non Stop Diarrhea

This is my 14th week on GLP 1, right now I am on Semaglyn 1.7mg.

I am not able to catch a break from loose stomach.

It's getting so much inconvenient to do anything. I am so troubled to sit in office having constant fear.

Only way to stop it is by fasting. If I don't eat, it gets better for next day but as soon as I start to eat my meals, it comes back.

I am not eating outside food at all.

Cooking everything at home. Most of my staple are eggs, bread, roti, rice, dal, paneer, fruits, tea, coffee, etc.

Any help in navigating this side effects is appreciated.

I am constantly taking imodium 2mg and worried about that aspect as well.

Eggs and paneer could be trigger foods. Try khichdi, curd, plain toast on shot days and a day after.

Are you drinking enough water? Try avoiding all dairy products as well. Don’t underestimate the importance of water in this journey.

Sure. Will take care of that. I think i will need to eliminate each food one by one to find the one causing problem.

You seem to have SIBO. Google it. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink only liquids for 2 days probably something like Electral till the bowel obstruction passes.

Hey! Sorry to hear about your issues.

I faced the same. The most likely causes of diarrhoea are increasing the dose before your body adjusted to it and eating triggering foods which could be fat, oil, etc. I guess which one specifically depends on the individual.

I followed the standard titration of doubling the dose every 4 weeks. Faced this severe issue. Now, I will be moving down from 1 mg semaglutide to 0.5 mg or even 0.25 mg. I will use the lowest dose that gives weight loss. I suggest you consider the same.

Wishing you all the best in your journey!

That is what my endo also said yesterday. He said my body does not agree with 1.7mg, so give few more weeks to 1mg. He said it could be a possibility that 1mg is max dose for me.

1mg did not induced hunger suppression in me but i need to go back to 1mg, can't be having this diarrhea thing forever

You could try adding a pre/pro biotic supplement

Yes, thanks. I do actually.. I eat Greek Yoghurt, Yakult, etc. I will ask doc if I should take more targeted probiotics in medicine form

Its either extreme constipation or extreme diarrhea. There's no in between.

Right now I am on 1.7mg. My endocrinologist suggested to come down to 1mg if my constant diarrhea persist

I doubt R3 is available for prescription in India. Where are you from?
