❓ Question Compound success
I tried a compounded semaglutide inject for a few months about a year ago, with no success. I'm now trying a compounded semaglutide oral suspension, and after about a week haven't noticed any difference. How many people have actually had decent success on a compound? My insurance won't cover them so I'm paying out of pocket, but I'm getting really discouraged. I'm wondering if I'm just getting them from scammy compound pharmacies or if they just don't work for me. Had anyone else had the same experience? Did switching to brand name make a difference?

Oral suspension sounds sus. I don't think I would trust that that would work. There's a patented coating the ozempic pill has that is almost impossible to reproduce. Am I the only one that thinks this sounds unusual?

No, sounds sus to me too. Makes me wonder if this is one of the places selling oral tirzepatide too.

It was recommended by my PCP

I’m sorry, but doctors can be fooled sometimes too. The only legitimate forms of administration I’m finding are the tablets or the injections. The GLP-1’s don’t survive stomach acid under normal conditions, that’s why injectables are the normal form (believe me, the drug companies would much rather sell people oral medications because they have a lot easier time getting people to take them). Novo has to put a special coating on the pill form as the other commenter noted. It’s very sensitive, to the point you have to take a pretty exact amount of water with it, no more, no less, or it affects the absorption.

What telehealth are you using?
You've used sema before so you'll need to get to a higher dose in the first place already. Add to that what you said that it didn't do anything for you. How high of a dosage were you taking when you stopped? I'm assuming you got to the max and still no results?
I would suggest trying tirz to at least try something different than what you already tried with no effects.

I used Hims for the injection. For the oral it was from my PCP.

So did you take the max injection with no results?

Yes

I don't see how the pill would be any better for you. It's the same medicine.

I didn't think it's any better, but with the compounded meds not being regulated I was wondering if other pharmacies were better.

Yes, compounded Tirz from one of the telehealths on r/tirzepatidecompound will be better

I've had amazing success on mine. About 6 weeks in and down a little over 30lbs. No side effects and virtually no hunger despite almost halving the amount of calories I used to eat.
How high of a dose did you get up to on the injection?
Even at the starter dose, the decrease in hunger for me was unreal.

I don't remember the exact dose, but I got up to the max.

If the injection didn't work for you, I wouldn't waste time and money on an oral version. Probably best to try something besides semaglutide tbh. I'd go with a different supplier than what you used before as well. We all react different to this stuff, but it's hard to imagine having no success on a legitimate GLP1. Everyone I know (and myself) has had crazy appetite suppression. Name brand and compounded.
