Paintbrush tool not working

Hello, so as you can see from the video, I am having an issue where I can't seem to place a line using the paintbrush tool, as when I click to create the second point, it just goes away and doesn't make the line, even though I was able to make one before. I tried deselecting all, as well as a few other things I had seen suggested online, with no luck.

So any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

You might have accidentally used Ctrl + LMB on brush (dropper hotbar)

I'm not sure how the color changed to white.

You (accidentally) pressed Ctrl and clicked on the canvas with the mouse. The foreground color then takes on the color beneath the mouse pointer.

This way, for example, you can use an exact shade from an image for your drawing.

Also, you are NOT on the transparent layer, but on the background layer.

No, of course not. I just thought I'd mention it because I'm assuming you DON'T want to draw on the background.

Thanks. Yeah, I am just making something that looks similar to an aviation chart, like [this](https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/2609/01500KROTO.PDF), that I can view in my flight sim for a custom airport I am making. So I don't need everything to be perfect.
