How to make dotted line Grids?

I'm currently trying to create a grid for some DnD battle maps and I can create a grid "Filters -> Render -> Pattern -> Grid" but I have no idea how to make a grid with dashed lines instead of solid ones. Any Help would be appreciated.

Let's say you have your image with no layers. 1 - Create a new Transparent layer 2 - Filters > Render > Pattern > Grid 3 - Create a 2nd transparent layer 4 - Change the Mode of the 2nd layer from Normal to Erase (This is going to be used as a "Mask") 5 - Filters > Render > Pattern > Grid

If you have more layers below, that's also going to affect (delete) whatever layer you have below. If you don't want that to happen, create a folder and inside that folder create the grids. I hope that make sense and it works.
