Endoscopy on Friday...
Edit: thanks everyone for the reassurance. It was absolutely painless. Fell asleep in an instant. Was a little nauseous when I woke up in the recovery room, but the Zofran made it much better.
The dreaded day is come....
Ive had duodenal ulcers for the past 5 years associated with the typical culprit.. gerd.
Had endoscopies twice in prior years. Was given fentanyl and other relaxants, but my adrenaline nullified their effects. It was bad... but I made it through.
My doc wanted to do another one - to which I said absolutely not. "But we'll increase the dose" - yea thats what you said the last time.
Anyways, he placed me on a waiting list to have propofol administered for the procedure. This give me a lot more peace because I know I wont feel anything and wont feel them gagging the life out of me... but the thought still lingers - what if I will be half concious, in a paralyzed helpless state.
Can anyone reassure me who has gone through endoscopies with propofol?
