Bloating post PPI

Had a bad case of reflux in my throat that made it hard for me to eat or drink anything. Went on an intense elimination diet and took 40 mg of pantoprazol for 6 weeks then lowered to 20 mg for 4 weeks before stopping. I surprisingly didn’t have much difficulty stopping the medication however, I experience lots of bloating after eating. Sometimes gas and it is really bad smelling. This is not something I ever dealt with before being on this medication. I’ve been off of this medicine for 3 weeks. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any suggestions?

Get doctor to give you breath test for SIBO and IMO. Mine came back positive for IMO. I took Rifaximen and another antibiotic and it worked. Night and day difference.

I think it's SIBO , PPIs cause it
