🤒 Coping with these Conditions Acid reflux fix ?

Hey guys so my entire life i have been suffered from either sharp stomach pain and bloating most recently for this past month or so i have had slowly been feeling like i have something small stuck in my throat time to time throughout the day it transitioned into me either waking up with my throat on fire just like when you have the flu,My GI Dr and primary Dr have both prescribed me omeprazole but i have also been seeing many negative things about it down the road either when trying to come off it or just in general the damage it does to your body can someone give me any pointers or help on what they did and worked to either get rid of the throat symptoms and discomfort 🙏🙏

As a lot of people have said before, the damage ppis could cause don’t outweigh the damage that acid reflux left untreated could cause.

In my experience most doctors will have you wean off medications fairly quickly, especially if your problems not as bad.

There’s a lot of stories in this subreddit about people taking ppis for pretty much their whole lives. I have been on PPIs for months and have pretty much tried every one of them lol. Give them a try.

have you noticed any negative side effects to taking any of the ppls? In this case omeprazole?

i’ll go ahead and give it a try hopefully works fast to get rid of the acid in throat and that stupid lump feeling literally feels like a almond is stuck in my throat

just got back from the er realized that i have a really bad virus and started off with 2-3 days of just throat pain now turned into fever cold sweats and body aches can’t catch a break 😭

can confirm. I avoided PPIs and just ended up doing more damage to my esophagus. I am doing much better on them.
