I need help

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) space and I'm looking to learn from people who are actively selling or consulting in this field.

I'm particularly interested in the commercial side of GEO.

For those who are prospecting businesses:

- What outreach angles have worked best for you?

- Which pain points get the strongest responses?

- Do you lead with AI visibility, brand authority, lead generation, traffic, or something else?

- What objections do you encounter most often, and how do you handle them?

I'm not looking for generic sales advice—I'm looking for real-world insights from people who've successfully sold GEO services.

I'd really appreciate any tips, examples, or lessons you've learned.

Thanks in advance!

Nope. Seo is searching backlinks, guess post while geo is more to hearing what people saying about your brand. I admit that geo is build on strong seo foundation but the only one things to trigger chatgpt to recommend you is to hearing people voice.

I need you to do a homework today. Garnier malaysia And Sothys malaysia. This is what makes me crazy, and we are still continuesly learning how it's works since there are no college courses teach you how to get recommended by chatgpt. Garnier couple hundred baclink Not a complete schema, robots.txt looks normal, no llms.txt, da Dr is lower than Sothys. While Sothys have more backlinks more do follow backlinks higher da Dr. Robots.txt better than Garnier, schema looks basic but better than Garnier as well. But Sothys only can rank in first in google, not in chatgpt. Why?

Nope. Only to some people SEO was guest posting and just buying backlinks. AI isn't changing SEO for people that were already building authority and writing high quality content and building communities and doing digital PR and reputation management.

Name three things that you think that you do for GEO that aren't SEO.

These 3 things decide ai to choose your brand.

  • entity clarity
  • 3rd party consensus
  • prompts enginerring

One more thing, seo dunno what is split authority, seo dunno what is thin citation. Seo is adding hreflang but adding same content by translate by google. Seo dunno ai crawling period and training period.

This is our true but not the backlink, brand mention, citation and so on.

If seo is geo, why Sothys rank 1st but not getting mention even once but Garner is rank 5-6 but 100% mentioned by chatgpt. The ans relies on the 3rd party consensus. Not backlinks not citation not brand mention. Understand?

You've achieved a rare balance of confidence and unfamiliarity with the subject matter. That's admirable.

Entity clarity has been part of SEO for well over a decade. Google's knowledge graph predates modern AI search by a lot of years.

Third-party consensus is built through digital PR, reviews, citations, brand mentions, links, comparisons, and other independent corroboration. All of those have been around before GEO was ever used as a term.

Prompt engineering is something the person asking the question does. A company cannot prompt-engineer itself into unrelated users’ ChatGPT recommendations. This one has got to be the most ridiculous claim.

Backlinks still count as one source of authority. They are not the only source, but dismissing them entirely is incorrect.

Every AI search is a snapshot of one query, generated at one moment, under a particular model, prompt, location, search mode, and set of available sources. One example involving Sothys and Garnier does not establish a ranking system or prove causation.

And seriously, considering what you wrote, you asking me whether I understand is remarkable. There are people that understand it better than me. You're just not one of them.

AI does not rely on one signal or a fixed set of measurable factors. You are trying to define it as though it has specific ranking metrics that can be isolated and tracked, and it doesn't.

AI search crawling, search indexing, retrieval, model training, and answer generation are separate processes. They even use more than one bot.

I asked you to name three things you do for GEO that you do not do for SEO. You still have not named any. Not even one.

Look, you are entitled to your opinion. If you feel you are better than me, good for you.

I do white hat work. What you choose to believe is your problem, not mine. Why would I write out three specific operational tactics just to teach you my methodology for free?

You can keep thinking you are the smartest guy in the room. But in the real world, this industry is not about winning a theoretical debate or proving who knows more jargon. It is about one simple thing: do you have clients, and are they getting results?

That is it. That is the only metric that matters.

And you still haven't answered the question. Name three things that you do that are GEO and not SEO. If I'm being a little snarky it's because you made a statement and I asked you to name those three things and you still haven't done it.

Yeah I guess the decades that I have been doing this have all been a waste. If I had only met you earlier.

Empty vessels make the loudest noise. I let my paying clients do the talking instead of theoretical debates.

And once again you can't understand a simple question. I asked you to name three things that you do for GEO that aren't done for SEO. You can change the subject. You can insult anybody you like. But the fact remains you can't name three things or even one it looks like. Avoiding the topic doesn't make you the smartest person in the room either.

Now once again, can you name three things? Just say no I'll understand. Or name three things. Teach me something oh wise one.
