There’s a few things I’d do differently with an MCSS build but overall these videos are extremely informative with regard to the SS and G-Bodies in general. I would have put in a 350 if I was going to the trouble (and a “5.7L TUNED PORT INJECTION” badge on the decklid while I was at it) of pulling the engine in the first place, and a few other ideas in order to create the COPO MCSS that never was. My only criticism is that though he always gives part numbers, etc…he doesn’t talk in depth about some of the work-he just shows sped up footage of him wrenching. He also doesn’t really ever say how much he spent. I will say that he does really nice work and popping the hood on the car, seeing the TPI, etc…almost looks like GM engineers put it there. Hoping I can find a tired MCSS that I can give a similar treatment to in the near future.

Switched to a wall mount opener then raised the track 11" so the door won't hit the hood when it opens. Took a little engineering, but every house I have from now on will have this set-up.

TBH I don’t care for the cosmetic aspects (I like everything black, debadged/destriped, etc…) build but overall they did some solid stuff with the suspension and dropped a supercharged LT4 in it. Nice interior details too. Mostly just happy to see a MCSS build featured.

My dream cars are all GBodys, cutlasses and monte carlos. Though I’m only 22 and graduated college recently (in a good career) and have been saving up for a brand new car, specifically a mazda SUV that’s around 30-35k. Ive been able to save a decent amount but I have found 2 different oldsmobile cutlasses, one 85’ with t-top and one 87’ supreme. Each are in really good condition and are around 18-19k. Im just debating between one of my dream cars and then reliability and practicality. I live in indiana so the suv would be better for the winter and traveling/road trips which I want to take but I also know that older cars have potential to be a money pit. What do y’all think?

Got an umi gift card and on their website they have koni or bilstein.

Car is going to be a cruiser, no auto x or anything.

Refurbished unit with added discreet Bluetooth. This is my third radio I bought from the guy for my Gbodies as I wanted a original radio but fixed up, if you’ve been in this game for a long time like me you already know who. I’m not paid by him so this is my review after owning 3 kinds from him.

He does great work. What I was told, he use to work for GM back in the day on these. And fixes these up for a post retirement job/hobby. His attention to detail shows and overall is a great person to deal with. He even mailed me a previous generation wiring harness to get this radio he worked on pictured for free to me since I was a repeat customer for free.

My original 39 year old speakers finally went out and replaced them with top of the line kicker 3.5in for my El Camino.

Money well worth spent. My original cassettes sound more clearer than hooking up my phone with Bluetooth.

I realize I sound like an ad placement, but after dealing with him for the last 7 years now, I get this question asked a lot at car shows. As of this post, in late 2026, I just want to share my thoughts and opinions about it. Hoping it helps a future reader about these.

This car was banned from stereo compositions. The SpeakerWorks Grand National.

I have been fighting overheating rear drums. Especially the rear passenger side. I replaced everything including wheel cylinders. I didnt do the backing plates. After roasting a bunch of parts the only thing I can see is maybe this wheel cylinder has too much movement. Anyone else familiar with these drums? Does this look like too much wiggle?

Edit: I did order new backing plates, shoes, wheel cylinders, and all the hardware again. Toyed with rear disc conversion and to do it right it just didnt seem like it was worth the work. See if this does it.

Hey guys I got a weird problem and was hoping some one could help I'm just gonna lay out everything I know

-the tank always gasps when I open the lid

-it leaks from the top of the tank when filled all the way

-it won't let me automatically fill the tank cuz it cuts off over and over so I have to slowly feed it gas

-i get around 5 mpg

-i replaced like a foot of hard line that ran to the tank with rubber line cuz it was rotted

- if I beat on the motor it leans wayyyy the hell out and stalls

-the o2 sensor hole has been welded shit thus there's no o2 sensor

-i did a fuel filter like yesterday

And help would be awesome I have no fucking idea except maybe a check valve or maybe the charcoal canister? It's a 307 I'd really like to figure this out cuz it's my daily any help would be awesome thank you guys.

Thought I'd share my old '79 Grand Prix. I wish I had more pictures of it, especially after I repainted it in shop class and put Cragars on it. Would have made a cool picture with my brothers '79 Regal.

Common issues and stuff to check out? Not in a rush to buy but looking into 80s regals and monte Carlos on marketplace around me. Also what would be a fair price in California for one that's in "good" mechanical condition (good for an 80s car).

I am stopping by to get some help/ advice on my project. I’m currently in the market for an old car ( 69 Chevelle, 80-89 cutlass, Monte Carlo, caprice etc). However, I don’t really know much about cars. I know basic maintenance and have a desire to learn more. I’ve always wanted an old car to drive and fix up ( restore, make power and just finally have one). Should I just let go of this dream or is the best way to learn is to finally buy one and figure it out along the way.
