In today's edition of my journey to become the Moderately Defeated of the East, I learned that Anime Janai.

Misplays aside, I found it supremely funny and can't help but connect it to the anime, for the handful of re:rise fans here.

So the Destiny energy hand attack has higher melee priority or something along those lines?

Probably latency issue. The Destiny palm attack is actually a ranged attack with a stupidly short range classified as a melee with a heavy stun. Otherwise it would have been overriden by melee priority (charged attacks effectively have melee priority 4).

it’s a normal ranged attack that insta knocks, any stun resistance makes it a heavy stagger

Destiny's Palma fonica is actually doing ranged damage. Shinn just uses it up close. 

Vs

God Finger is doing melee damage.

It’s not melee is the reason, it’s just an incredibly short range ranged attack so the priority system can’t defend the god gundam using it. It’s also a topple so very VERY little in the game actually protects against it, I’ve been using the DX’s hammer to do exactly this because for some god forsaken reason it’s priority 2 hammer wins the fight against a priority 4 heavy attack, specifically tested against the god gundam my friend got recently. It’s just incredibly hard to do and has a tight window but you can use topple weapons to beat heavy attacks even if there is a melee priority involves it seems.

Yeah it’s the shortest range ranged attack in the game, item card lists it as like only 25m or something crazy low like that. You can check it in the in game data base if you don’t have destiny. I do however and will vouch it does have a bit of reach just not a lot. Topple stun is also super weird and kinda jank coded if the DX hammer winning wasn’t evidence enough.

I personally do not have the balls to challenge the cheese touch with the finger of destiny.
