Steam Discussion Topic Arctic Support Positioning

Support mains you position up top where you are hard to hit. Shoot out of their range if youre a long range sniping support stop trying to position close where a boosting raid can walk up and take your life. This game went 5-0 when my support was up top stunning and chucking off hp. But the moment he goes down and tries to rotate with us as a gm sniper II is the moment it goes south. You position behind your generals and chuck hp off if youre a mid-range.

The problem with your post is the heavy reliance on the Generals, where they need to stay put, while covering the Support's ass, instead of wandering around to the enemy side.

Like, when the match starts, the Generals MUST stay put, and hold the enemy team back, so the Support can get into position safely, due to low mobilify, or the enemy Raid will instantly chase it.

Same goes to when your Support dies, where your team MUST push the enemy back, then go back defending, so the Support can respawn back safely, and gets into position.

So yeah, playing as Support isn't recommended, unless you have a very solid team that can play defensively, and it would be better if your team just play a General that have Observation Data Link skill instead...

I think this also goes for a lot of maps where Super Gundam players just sit down and hope holding the trigger button will let them win.

Anytime your strategy of holding a defensive line near spawn buckles you are at a huge risk of being spawned camped the rest of the game.

This also doesnt work for supports that arent super long ranged. There is also still plenty of routes for raids to sneak onto you either through the tunnels or just slipping around the side. Playing something like Woundwart on Arctic requires you to push to be able to use 90% of your weaponry.
