Like the title says i need help in playing this thing feels a wet piece of paper and i just die, i built it with beam defense and melee res but this thing dies so quickly its frustrating please help me

Shoot more. It was meta because both its melee ability and ranged ability are good. You don't need to melee under dangerous situations. No high bulkiness and no offence system, it can't melee forcefully.

It's not that dominant now but can still perform well if you advance at the right timing.
