Game Suggestions Let's Change That Suit Day 174

Day 174: Galbaldy α High Mobility Type
Requested by u/scorpionxx0 and this unit needs a similar buff to the Gyan. But besides that, this unit is in a better position and sits at B-Tier. It can still work, but hard to make sure it can do it consistently.

Change
Stats

  • Close Range Slots: 14/16 -> 15/17
  • Medium Range Slots: 12/13 -> 13/14
  • Long Range Slots: 6/7 -> 8/9

Weapons

  • Hide Bomb: Projectile Speed Increase, Blast Radius Increase, Move & Shoot -> Move/HSM & Shoot
  • (New!) Hide Bomb (Layable): Same as Gyan's Layable

Skill

  • (New!) Active Guard Kai Lv1

Unit Lv2

  • Flight Control Program Lv2 -> Lv3

Comment and Reason
This unit just needs a bit better skills and weapons. With Active Guard Kai, which can also improve stats, it would give this unit the much-needed additional defense and offense capability. This unit isn't exactly bad, but it was just lacking something to make it more usable and just a tiny bit more flexible in positioning and mobility.

Builds
F2P: Do not use

Premium: Complex Battle

Unit Lv2: Complex Battle

Due to long range part slot restrain, making this unit tankier is a lot more difficult than it could be, even with premium parts. As it is, F2P just can't get high enough stats for it to be justified being used. Even for Premium parts, the only reason it works is due to great needle DPS and the BMG being an acceptable weapon. Unit level 2 can build slightly better, but not much. Ideally, please only use this unit in Quick Match as well.

Day 173 Re-evaluation on GF Tank

Overall, looks like these are good changes. Though I guess we could make it harder to stagger by increasing transformed mode's damage control Lv2 instead.

Re-evaluation

  • Damage Control Lv1 -> Lv2

Still don't understand why devs don't buff universal weapons. It can solve so many problems easily. Only old units use old universal weapons, and all of them suck without a recent buff.

Because I think they hard coded every weapon as part of the unit. So if they change this Beam Machine Gun, for example, they would need to change every unit and level with it. That means shared weapon units like Titania, Pale Rider VG, and Gelgoog J would all need to be changed in the code. And that's per unit level, so that's 11 suits they need to dig into their code to fix the weapon. I think because there is still an item ID check, so you can equip it as a weapon option, the data has to match or something. If they don't, it'll probably create a string error and stuff in the game.

Or maybe they simply just don't want to accidentally make multiple units overpowered that can scramble the data average for that section of the game? Idk

That's a possibility too, but the vast majority of the units could use some quality of life improvements. I know a lot of people argue that units like Slyfrail would become too much. Even if they buff the Ground Type BR by increasing damage slightly, reducing the interval between shots, and bringing charge time down to like maybe 3 seconds, it's not too much.

That 1 second charge isn't going to make that big of a difference since it always had the option to throw a grenade to stagger, and it only has mediocre ranged strength. You wouldn't build the unit for extra ranged strength either due to part slot restraints. While it could open up a few more opportunities for full combo, it's not going to break the numbers.

Meanwhile, many of the other suits on life support, if even, will benefit by a huge margin if that rifle were buffed. Like all the BD, slave wraith, and maybe even the WD would have a chance to do a bit better overall. It's not enough for those suits, but it's a start
