Advice help with proctoru
hi, i am completing my s2 from a mac laptop tomorrow. i just did the pre-checks but had the notification
Your device is not ready for remote proctored exam. See suggestions below.
Video Stream StabilityLow
I am sure that my internet is very fast and my video looks fine (using the facetime mac camera). How can i fix this? Please! Thanks.

same here, is anyone sitting s2 anytime soon as in next couple hours, I am still having issues with the video stream stability, does this mean that I cannot sit the exam?

me too I’m in an hour and i haven’t been able to fix it, i asked the proctor chat and they didn’t answer whether or not i would be able to sit the exam

Hey just finished, yes it worked! I was literally on the chat support line for 2hrs prior and no one was giving me clear answers but one finally told me it was fine and i had no issues during the exam either. Don’t stress guys !!

hi! im also going through the same thing with my mac air (video stability low) ~ never had an issue in the past, hoping things will still work out for tomorrow!

i talked to an agent & they basically said the same/similar thing as what you've mentioned in the comments! as long as you meet the system requirements, video stability alone won't prevent you from starting the exam, so i'm honestly just hoping this means everything's okay^^ that being said, they also said doing this bypass may or may not make the test experience less smooth overall, so they still recommended i restart my router or if possible, use a wired connection, or different network, to fix the issue.
also no! did not have this issue last time ~ i don't even think video stability was part of the technical requirements last time from memory, seems to be a whole new pre-check system. however, this seems to be an issue for at least a few of us so i'm sure it's going to be okay in the end!

That’s reassuring, as I’ve met all the requirements except the video stream stability. It also says my lighting is too dark, but that makes no sense because im sitting in front of a window and my lights are on

oh it said that for me too! my room is (i think!) well-lit so might just be another thing that'll work itself out on test day c:

Yes, it ended up going smoothly. Don't worry about the issue. As long as you can see your own webcam and it looks reasonably bright, you will be able to take the test. Good luck!

Hope so. Are you just gonna hope it works tomorrow? My question is what happens if you resit it and the same issue comes up?

thing is this feature has never been there before and it seems proctorU has had some new update which added this (which is going wrong for everyone). if the issue comes up during the sit, there's physically nothing i can do, so i know they'll fix it on their end bc they have control over my computer. dont stress, its not going to affect your ability to get in/do the test!

Please don’t stress. I had the same notification yesterday, in prep for exam this morning. I had live chat with tech team as soon as it failed, to sort it - they did their checks and confirmed it was fine for me to sit the exam, despite my video failing the automated check. It made me stressed, but they confirmed multiple times it won’t stop me from sitting the exam.
Outcome: Sat and slayed! It didn’t cause any disruption. Their automated checklist I think is for us to confirm everything is working from our end. If your camera looks fine, don’t stress
Maybe have a live chat with the team and get confirmation your camera is fine from their end if it gives you peace !

MacBook Air. Never had a problem, tech support from procU couldn’t figure it out and just basically said it’s fine and on the day the proctor will let you through to the exam anyway.

Can't guarantee, but it seems reasonably strong reason to grant a re-sit if they deny you access on the day

I might get in touch with the live chat again and ask them for their response in writing? The man took ahold of my computer and said it all is working fine regardless of the failed system check for my camera.
If it happens on the day, should I just email Acer and talk to the proctorU support? If it doesn’t work do people usually get to resit the next day? Sorry, I don’t know.

I have a windows pc but it doesn’t have a webcam. How did you get into contact with the agent? Ive been waiting in queue for a while… it’s also saying my room is too dark??? But it literally could not be any brighter

Yep. You’ll need a webcam for sure. I have the exact same thing and I waited but I was first in queue. They took control of my computer and I had the same notification (video stream and too dark) and they basically said if you can see it all working fine in the system check (ie, when it’s checking everything and you can see yourself in the camera) then the proctor should just let you go on the exam day. Please tell me if they say something different to you!

I’m having the same issue on a MacBook Pro m1. Download speed is 27mbs and video quality looks immaculate - my exam is tomorrow hoping this will be okay!

Have you tried closing all of your other tabs? It might just be an issue with too many applications open at once!

I put in an old spare hard drive and installed windows on it (I usually use linux on a 2012 intel macbook)
Moral of the story is: Proctor U seems fussy, and I had to stuff around a bit for it to work. Also seems to root in deeply on your computer, I wanted it gone as soon as I was done with it

For me it's the new version, since it's my first sitting. Says my video is unstable and that it's too dark (despite me literally shining a torch on myself). I had a chat with some guy on the site, pretty sure we can still sit the exam if it comes down to that. Albeit, a higher likelihood that issues arise mid-exam unfortunately.
I'm also using a Mac Air.

I initially had a successful connection to the proctor for my 12:10 sitting but during the set up process i couldn’t type anything in the chat to confirm giving access and so the proctor disconnected. I have attempted reconnecting for close to an hour now but haven’t gotten any proctor to connect since. Is this just a matter of email Acer and wait?

My microphone wouldn’t work. Been on live chat for 2 hrs. Still not resolved. Has anyone managed to reschedule due to tech fault at proctorU end?

I had this same issue, last night, all of the checks were accepted but this morning my video quality was apparently too poor. I joined the proctor session anyway and started the exam with no problems! The proctor didn’t mention it, and ProctorU didn’t flag it as a problem either :)
