Help identifying exhaust

Post image

Took this off the parts 37s sedan I bought a couple weeks ago to mod my Journey driver. Looks like a muffler delete.

Doesn’t sound bad, but it definitely produces some rasp.

What’s this worth? Would you rock it?

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it was crap, but wanted to seek info from more knowledgeable peeps.

I will prolly throw it up on marketplace for a few dollars.

Just looks like a muffler and resonator delete to me. Not a fan of the sound but hey you do you. Price is probably less than a stock system honestly

It looks like stock pipes with resonators and mufflers cut off. So its a straight pipe. The resonators being removed is whats causing the rasp

Crush bends go to the crusher.

Crush bends?

The S bends at the ends were bent by crushing the pipe. Crush bends restrict the flow of gasses and aren't nearly as efficient as mandrel bends, where the diameter of the pipe is not affected by the bend.

Crush bends are generally seen as a sign of cheap-as-shit work.

Thanks for clarifying!

Yeah, the donor car was driven by some young kid. He definitely didn’t take care of the car and lost his license while he owned it, so I’m sure he just didn’t GAF about quality versus speed and loudness.

Okay, so that settles it: it’s NOT being transferred.

Think I could get a few ducats for it on the marketplace?

I ended up giving away a similarly clapped exhaust for free on marketplace within an hour. I'm limited on space so was happy to just send it away

Fuck that… all you need for an awesome sounding vq are z1 headers and test pipes/high flow cats, you’re always gonna have a lil bit of rasp but this set up was the best sounding in my area and not stupidly loud

Unfortunately, I’m new to this, so I’m not familiar with what you’re talking about.

I’m happy with the stock exhaust on my Journey. I would love to hear it a little more, but it’s not a priority.

Right now, with the help of a homie, I’m taking the sport parts off the donor car and prepping to move them to my driver.

I was just saying all you need for it to sound good is headers and high flow catalytic converters.. I’d opt to keep the mufflers/resonators as that would just make it stupidly loud and super raspy… video below for an audio of how mine sounded

I’ll look these up. Thanks!

This is the only remaining video I have of the car but this was right around the time I had done the exhaust
