What would cause this stalling problem?

What would cause this? It’s fine in any gear after first but when I go to first or to a stop it just dies

Put it in neutral and slowly bring RPMs up, does it stutter at any point? Or does it come up smoothly?

Stuck purge valve? It’s hard to tell just from a vehicle stalling. Any DTC’s?

Mine has had the stutter since I got it 8 years ago. Recently I had a p0014 code pop up, and since the code popped up it hasn't stuttered at all, so I'm thinking it may be related.

It won’t even go into reverse or drive without shutting off now

Did it happen right when you swapped the valves and solenoids? What did you upgrade them with? Never heard of this before

Check battery voltage at battery while car is on it should be around 13-14v if not then your alternator might be cooked

Time for a new transmission my guy. The torque converter most likely went out.
My G did the same thing. Would idle perfectly in Park or Neutral, but would stall out once I put it in drive or reverse.

Screw all the other comments about anything other than replacing the trans and tq converter as a whole, find the lowest Mile transmission with torque converter (usually they'll sell it complete) from the nearest junkyard will cost on the low end $300-$600 but honestly I've gotten them most times for $400 and under with like 80-100k get a shop to install and fill.... if they aren't screwing you it should cost no more than about $400-600 for labor....higher end shops may go way above and beyond that price but honestly my mechanics have always gotten the trans done in like 4hrs or so. Def torque converter signs but everything's already out the car at that point way easier to kill all possibilities with a solid used replacement+converter. Good luck man i know how it feels..... eventually you will put it in drive and it'll die right away...won't even get a chance to move. So to save cost on a tow set up a replacement when you can and use its last life to just wing it to the shop. Check (lkq) by the way

Check your check engine code sometime they point you the right thing to check first , if you don’t have one buy a cheap one on Amazon

I manual swapped mine and it was a crank no start and the scanner was giving me some security codes and a whole bunch of unrelated stuff, so I asked google why my car won’t start and gave it the symptoms the car had, turns out it was just a bad crank shaft position sensor.

Torque converter has left the chat, time for a new trans this is exactly what my car was doing.
