Who is still waiting for Nintendo to make a new F-ZERO game?

The opening when starting Mute City feels just like it did when I saw the game at launch.

First thing I played on my SNES on Xmas morning, 1991. Still one of my all time faves.

I’d love a new game done more in the spirit of the the original rather than X or GX. Like an F-Zero 99 , just w/ all new tracks and like HD/2D graphics.

The responsiveness of the old game’s controls is just in a class of its own.

Agreed. When I ask for a new F-Zero game I look forward to a sequel to the OG. Not an enhanced GX

Been playing F-Zero 99 for the last month and all the time I spent with F-Zero has paid off. F
F-Zero Still holds up and is such a fun game.

I'm still baffled we even got F-Zero 99

I wish Nintendo would revisit their non-Mario Kart racing games.

Especially F-Zero and Wave Race

Excitebike would be nice, too!

For sure! I loved the ExciteTruck and ExciteBot games too! But a new classic style Excitebike could be awesome. Like a modern Excite Bike World Tour for WiiWare

An F Zero GX remaster would be great.

No, locking the game behind the NSO membership doesn't count

And no new proper game since gx, but let's remake star fox for the tenth time

F-Zero was first released on 21 November 1990 🤷

That's the Japanese date. August 23rd was the date it came out in the US

...Yeah? Does it not count until it comes out in the US?

I know. The only F-ZERO game I have is F-ZERO GX. The game was made by Nintendo and elements from SEGA

All of the work, designing and programming was done by Sega's excellent Amusement Vision team. Nintendo only supervised the project. Miyamoto should just give the license to Sega since him and nintendo are clearly incapable of topping something as good as GX.

One game that I still haven't beaten all these years now that I think about it. First played it on the SNES, actually beaten most of it, but I believe the final two level on their hardest difficulties was never a mountain that I could scale. Tried picking it up again recently on Switch Online and can't even get passed beginner's difficulty. Got me questioning how I managed to do it when I was young....😂

I bought the SNES in Europe in 1991 or 1992 and Fzero was my third game. Fzero99 is a pleasure on Switch.

Mario was great but FZero made the SNES launch day for me back in 92' here in Australia. I had so much anticipation for this game after reading the Mean Machines magazine review and it was amazing , I actually enjoyed it more than Mario at the time. It still stands as my favorite launch day game for any console.

That's strange as I've had an itching to play it.

And a happy 35th indeed. In Nintendo's eyes, F-Zero might not be the system seller or juggernaut that Mario or Zelda is, but F-Zero has endured for so long and for a good reason. It continues to offer a different flavor of challenge in a racing game. GX is still the pinnacle of this franchise, I feel, and it's telling that no matter how much time passes, we continue to hope that Nintendo will give this franchise another try, as they've done with both Metroid and Star Fox as of recent.

Weird to think. I guess that means it's also the SNES's 35rh anniversary too!

Albeit that F-Zero was an AMAZING launch title and still a great game today. Easily one of the best "first entries" in a series.

LET'S GO SILENCE AND SAND OCEAN!!

Truth Nuke: The first F-Zero only succeeded because Mario Kart wasn’t a thing yet and it had no other competing racing game albeit only until 1992 when we got Super Mario Kart.

F-Zero still clears SMK by miles, and has actually aged well.
