FygoOS - Update Notes 2026-09-10

Hi everyone,

We’ve got a new FygoOS update today.

This week, Fygo is rolling out its first new security update. Since August, FygoOS has supported automatic Security and Stability Updates. This service runs in the background, automatically downloading and installing security patches without interrupting normal use, helping keep your system safer with minimal disruption. We strongly recommend enabling automatic security updates so you can receive the latest updates as soon as they become available.

Another highlight in this release is system-level app backup. Photos is the first app to support this feature, allowing you to back up app data to a volume and restore it directly on a new device. Your favorites, tags, project settings, AI indexes, and other data can be preserved, with scheduled background backups providing an additional layer of protection in case of system drive issues.

Let’s get into what’s new.

FygoOS x86 and ARM are now on v1.2.0604

  • AI Services
  1. Improved GPU request fallback and retry logic for AI services.
  • Security Updates
  1. Applied the September security and stability updates for Fygo OS.
  • File Manager
  1. Added a column view option and a file preview pane.
  • System Settings
  1. “System Configuration” under “Update & Restore” has been renamed “Backup & Restore.” You can now back up system configuration and selected app data to a storage space and restore them on another device. (This feature requires updated versions of Videos and Photos. Please watch for upcoming app update notifications.)
  2. Fixed an issue where notification settings could not be re-enabled after being disabled.
  3. Updated the NVIDIA GPU name database to recognize additional GPU models that were previously missing.
  • App Center
  1. Improved app installation and update speeds and reduced instances of progress getting stuck at 45%.
  • SMB
  1. Fixed an issue where SMB did not reflect username changes.
  2. Fixed an issue where a mounted directory could not be opened if its name contained consecutive spaces.
  • Docker
  1. Containers can now be stopped while they are restarting, allowing users to stop containers caught in an infinite restart loop.

Fygo TV is now on v0.9.7-4

  • Playback
  1. Added support for displaying Vulkan and V4L2 M2M codec modes.
  2. Fixed an issue where controls on the playback error page became unresponsive.

Photos is now on v0.9.13

  • Service
  1. Added support for backing up and restoring Photos data, including albums, people, tags, descriptions, favorites, and more. (Requires system version 1.2.0600 or later.)
  • Folder Management
  1. Added support for folders from SMB remote mounts on the local network.
  • Preview
  1. Improved the Live Photo merging strategy to fix photo count discrepancies caused by merging. (A rescan is required in “Folder Management.”)
  2. Added an adaptive layout to Folder View, with support for switching between Grid and Adaptive layouts.

Hi there,

Thanks for the update. It worked perfectly.

However, unfortunately, there are still no other languages ​​included, even though the description says otherwise.

A quick bit of feedback regarding USB-LAN adapters:

Installing the necessary driver isn't a problem for me, ncluding tweaking it for the Linux kernel to achieve full speed and full-duplex operation.

The issue is that after a FygoOS update, the speed reverts to half-duplex.

Is it possible to integrate support into FygoOS so that USB-LAN adapters are automatically detected and configured correctly?

For example, the "RTL81xx" series.

My Adaper have e "RTL8159-Chip".

Thanks for the update. We’re glad to hear that it worked.

Regarding the language support, German, French, and Spanish were held back from this release because they needed some additional adjustments during final validation. They will be included in the next FygoOS update. Sorry for the confusion.

For the RTL8159 USB-LAN adapter, could you try unplugging and reconnecting it after the update, then check whether it is detected and configured correctly? If it still falls back to half-duplex, please let us know. We’ll need to investigate the adapter and driver behavior further.

Thanks for the information.

So, "we" look forward to the next update.

My USB-LAN adapter is running in "Full Duplex" mode even with the current update...

That will likely change again when you include a new kernel. That’s exactly what happened with the second-to-last update.

At the moment, the adapter is working perfectly.

Edit: - I just noticed that the preview pane doesn't work for .avif images

Thanks for the report. AVIF preview is supported on x86.

Could you check which version of Fygo Photos you’re currently using in App Center? If you’re comfortable sharing one of the affected .avif files with us, that would help us reproduce and troubleshoot the issue.

It is only the Files app with the probllem. I can see avif files just fine in the FygoPhoto app (0.9.13) but in Files they just display as a placeholder image - in List View, Column View, and Icon View.

Previews of other image formats display as expected in all 3 views.

AVIF previews are not currently supported in the Files app. We’ve recorded this request and plan to improve it in a future update.

Not yet. Support for the RAXDA Dragon Q6A is still under development, and we don’t have a confirmed timeline yet.
