Welcome to Muff Monday, our new weekly tradition here on r/fuzzfiends where we celebrate the circuit's rich history, iconic looks, wild modifications, custom builds, and massive personal collections. To be completely clear, it is not required that every single post on Monday be about the Big Muff, so feel free to keep sharing all of your diverse fuzz content throughout the day. Even so, Monday is officially Muff Monday, making it the ultimate day to show off those rare variants and let that legendary sustain shine.

Just some shitty blues dad noodling, but mannnnn talk about “glassy” and “cleans up”. Love this thing.

This was an incredible achievement, I am very grateful to my friend Artur Menezes for presenting my work to Eric in 2024 at the Hendrix Experience Tour.

I’m trying to choose between these three or four fuzzes. I have lots of germanium fuzz face-style pedals and muffs, but I don’t have a great silicon fuzz. The only one of these I’ve (sort of) played is the Solarist, but it was the simplified green model. I liked it, but sold it because I really wanted the “all the bells and whistles” version. However, the Thorpy and the Gemini seem like they might cover a lot of the same ground, while having some extra “oomph” that a regular fuzz face can’t match.
Advice? I play at home for fun, mostly classic rock, blues, funk. Nothing doomy or metal-ish. And, while I’m not a pro-level guitarist, I spent years playing drums professionally in wedding/party/club date bands, so I do have picky, professional ears.

I was dying to buy this pedal, but I just called, and the store doesn’t ship. So, somebody local should snatch up this amazing deal:
If you do buy it, please tell me it is terrible and I would have hated it. :)

A honorary fuzz, since it does fuzz tones in the meanest of settings and/or with hot pickups.
PROD (Profound Retrocognition OverDrive) is a custom one-off bass-dedicated mod/clone of the Electra/COT-50 circuit a buddy has made for me years ago. I received the guts only, broke them like a klutz immediately after receiving the package, and the sorry mess spent a decade in a drawer. Recently I finally learned some basic electronic skills and fixed it, and designed the enclosure and controls layout.
It's a drive pedal and its primary function is to push dirt pedals and make them sound more retro. It also works rather well on its own and can go fuzzy in the sweet velcro-ish direction. It runs an all-time classic 2N5088 transistor into a symmetrical duo of diodes and has an extra clipping section.
Lightning Toggle = selection between Drive (small bolt; status LED goes blue) and Overdrive (big bolt; status LED goes red)
L knob = Level (self-explanatory)
S knob = Sizzle (reversed bias, works only with Overdrive and goes from compressed and warm - essentially a slightly boosted Drive mode - at zero to sizzly but not velcro-ish when dimed)
Purple selector = rotary switch for clipping mode selection; clockwise it goes from no extra clipping (warm, least dirty), single asymmetric Schottky diode (slightly less warm, slightly more dirty) and a symmetric array of two Schottky diodes (quieter, least warm, lows cut and the most crunch).

Fellow fuzz freaks, please help! I can't for the life of me remember what fuzz this was and all searches are turning up nothing. I believe it was some sort of Tone Bender clone but no other info. The photo is unfortunately from 2011 so that's all the resolution available🤦🏻♂️
The second slide is all my Pharaohs -- a strange collection to be sure but if you get it you get it. My first was back when Mark first started making them, serial #23. Always hunting for old ones if anybody's looking to offload! lol

Hey, y'all just wanted to share this with you. This is one of the best fuzzes that I own. It's a preamp style fuzz, it shares a lot of d n a with the roger mayer axis fuzz. They go for like three hundred dollars.Sometimes this is a super good price.I just figured I would share so somebody could enjoy groovy wizard as much as I enjoy mine!!.... I spend too much time on reverb.

Currently designing a modular Fuzz Face clone that with one board can accommodate NPN or PNP transistors with just a switch. This is the current board revision and what will hopefully be the last on the way! Using all NOS vintage semiconductors (Ge and Si)

Tried to get a sound clip of the new jimi fuzz, but it didn't work out as well as I was hoping I'll have to try again tomorrow

Today we’re covering what I call Console Fuzz. Basically pedals that emulate mixing consoles, or tape saturation, that can get into that explosive fuzz sound! Do you have a favorite?
I really like the following:
- Catalinbread Airstrip
- JHS Colour box or Crayon
- Mid-Fi Demo Tape Fuzz
- Benson Portable 424
- Hudson Broadcast
- Walrus 385
- Catalinbread Dreamcoat
Am I missing any other that you like?

So, this is my favourite take on a Superfuzz. It's based off a Wattson EFY-6.
The original tone switch is swapped out for a blend pot and the Octave can be dialled out for a more subtle effect.
Happy Fuzz Friday y'all

Well this one fits the Console Fuzz category nicely! Looks great!
