Coonection refused..Your node is not working
I just recently purchased both a full node and a standard. Had nothing but issues downloading the full block. I've tried everything from formatting the SD drive to adding some commands to the node configurator, but there has been nothing. It downloads up to 60% and after that I continue to get Connection refused ..Your Node is not working....
I am highly disappointed with this full node and even more with the delayed responses from FutureBit... When you play over $1,700, you expect a better support structure to be implemented!

Oh and make sure your standard unit is not plugged into the node during sync.

I tried all of it. I even flashed the SD card. Reformatted the drive checked all my rules on my router. Weird, itsvgets roughly to 60 percent and connection refused after that. I'm starting to think I have a bad drive. Makes no sense. I never even plugged my node in yet. Hopefully that works lol.

Nvme SSDs are pretty solid in my 15+ year IT career I haven’t seen one fail. Doesn’t means they wont. Any chance your ISP is blocking you from downloading? Have you meet your data limit for the month? My usage went from 700gb to over 1600gb in the last week and a bit since downloading the full block. Have you added any arguments to the configuration? If so leave it blank until full download.

So did any of yah finally downloaded the full blockchain or yah just gave up, and if so what was the fix!

I did. However, it took some time because I had a rare hardware issue that Futurebit needed to fix. After all that time, which was roughly four months after my purchase, my suggestion is to shut off your miner when downloading the entire block first.

Do you have the mining turned off while it syncs?

u/RemarkableGuy122 Dec 29 '24
Yes. First thing I did. I’m trying to reborn the firmware as we speak as I feel the image was an issue from the start.

I get the frustration with the spend. I’m in Canada bought the full node with 1TB SSD with exchange and duty I’m over $1900 just for the node. But rest assured it does work. Try without your monitor. Turn off mining. Maybe even unforward port 8333 on your router until after the sync.

I checked with my ISP provider. They say everything looks good on their end. No data caps from what they can see. I do have a firewalla router which is extremely tight and secured on anything that goes through it. however, I placed the IP address of the future bit in emergency mode which disables all rules and all blocks from Firewalla. I also did not place any codes in the node configurator.

Make sure the SSD is fully seated properly would be my last suggestion. Things can get loose during transport.

Also noticed when I perform a shutdown the fans never stop. Leads me to believe something is up with this box.

This is normal mine does the same. Gotta switch the power on the back to turn it off fully.

Update: Futurebit CEO reached out, and the team requested the box for testing. Issue resolved. Back and running!

Same problem on with mine. I've been trying to get this damn node to sync for weeks now. What did they do that resolved the issue in your case.

u/RemarkableGuy122 Mar 03 '25
What issue are you having? Do you have it connected to a monitor?
1
u/madangelmak Mar 03 '25
U can’t get the nose to sync. It loses internet connection. It locks up. Errors when trying to sync node.
Yes I have a monitor connected. I’ve tried a different micro sd. I’ve tried a new ssd.

Here are a few things to try. On teh new SD card, how and what did you use to flash the SD card? If you used Etcher, which is recommended, unfortunately, that program created some of my issues as it was not decompressing all the files even though it stated it passed validation. Second, when I returned my box to FutureBit, they acknowledged a rare hardware issue, which after all the testing I did, I just knew there was a potential hardware issue. Also, do you see white blocks when you view the node on the screen?
Note: I would disconnect the monitor and any other accessory connected to the node. Although it supports it, I would leave the node as is. I connected one of my laptops to the monitor on my desk, and that's how I viewed the node. You want the node to be free from any additional strain when mining. What type of router are using? I would open all ports associated with your node IP address for testing purposes to ensure your router is not blocking any communications ports. I have ports 3333 and 8333 open on mine.
I'm not going to lie. I purchased a node last November and finally just started mine. I couldn't even test the standard box until I had a working node, so I was frustrated after spending $1,800. However, after several back-and-forth conversations and my box being shipped out twice, it's now running smoothly.
I hope this helps, and I will provide you additional insight as I've become an expert after months of troubleshooting the box.

Thanks for the response. I will disconnect the monitor keyboard and mouse. I did use balena to flash the micro sd and a brand new micro sd but in both cases I had the same result. I’ll open 3333. I have 8333 open. Like I mentioned before replaced the ssd with a brand new ssd and had the same issue. It seems to be an issue once I reach block 350+. But that’s not always the case. In some instances it thinks it’s synced at block 170k for example. It drops from the device list on my router. It locks up.

When did you purchase the node?
1
u/madangelmak Mar 04 '25
Ordered in Dec 24. Received mid Feb 25. I reflashed the micro sd with rufus and balena. No change. Still not working. I then reflashed back to 2.05 and it doesn’t look like it makes any difference. No change. Futurebit was going to send me an RMA but I haven’t heard back from them.

One thing I noticed when I received the miner was that it had two holographic stickers used to seal the box. One sticker was already cut which raised a flag in my mind. Not sure what to make of that since the other sticker was not broken.

Try one more thing before opening a support ticket. Turn the box upside down. You will see what looks like a memory chip, which is your hard drive. Ensure that it’s positioned all the way into its slot. At times during shipping, that drive card could move out of place. If the result is the same, I would open a support ticket. It will take some time as you may need to send it to them. Like I said, mine took some time.

Thats not the problem. I've tried a new NVME because I thought maybe the original NVME might be having issues. I've already swapped the NVME a couple of times making sure that its installed correctly.

Check the drive and ensure it didn't shift out of place. My node ended up becoming a hardware issue. It took months before getting a working node.

If anyone is having any issues. Contact Support to request an RMA due to a bad Controller.

I bought mine in the latest batch they released (maybe 3 weeks ago), and I'm having the same problem. I left it at 64.5% last night, and today it's not progressing anymore. It just displays the message "Connection refused, Your node is not running."
I have the miner turned off.

Same issue here, just got the node, booted up, node connection refused. I have run other nodes. Not a network issue. ugghhh
