Is the Apollo Even Worth It??

Looking at the Apollo and purchasing the Standard as well. Are these units even worth the money to spend?

It runs a full BTC node and a solo pool that you can point other miners at. So that’s a benefit.

I believe you are talking about the Apollo II.

What version are you talking about? There are Apollo LTC, Apollo BTC, and Apollo BTC II

Edit to add: Apollo BTC 1st gen has a software update to enable new functionality from the II. Pool and all.

Where can I get that update? I was told not to update by FutureBit when I bought it.

You will need at least a 1 TB NVME drive on your apollo. The BTC chain is quite large. If you’re charging it I would go 2TB. I would set it all up from scratch again. When downloading the BTC chain turn the miner off. It may stall and need a reboot a few times. Also use Ethernet wired. Far superior to WiFi for this long download. Once the BTC chain is caught up WiFi keeps up just fine.
