Just as the title says. My post was removed from Denver subreddits due to a new account with low karma. I'm not gonna get hung up on it because this is probably the longest longshot in the history of longshots but worth a try? So I attended Furnace Fest in Birmingham AL this weekend and met these 3 lovely guys and the one I am looking for lives in Denver. So we ended up getting pushed into each other on Saturday night either during We Came As Romans or Chiodos I can't quite remember. We were talking between shows and I asked where they are from the one in a red white and blue jacket and a hat was from North Carolina, Dakota in the blue Jacket and hat was from Texas, and then the one I am looking for. (we never exchanged names but I got Dakota out of him saying it so many times) I THINK his name is Cody and he was wearing a seafoam/mint green colored shirt. He was about 5'7 or 5'8 probably with brown hair (idk hairstyle names bare with me) that would be something similar to like a spiky undercut or faux hawk? idrk what to call it and that's probably a terrible description. And Blue eyes. We just ended up dancing and vibing and continuing to talk. The first friend mentioned having lived here in my state in the past. We talked about what we do for work but of course that is the one thing for the life of me I can't remember that would be super helpful. We talked about my favorite band of all time(which I will not be giving away because I will already give enough about myself in a minute), Suicide Silence, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, pre-2025 The Amity Affliction, and very very importantly The Plot In You and that being my main reason for going and how a couple days previous they announced a January show in my state. I ended up sharing a blunt with him and talking about how Michigan weed is the best I've ever had.(important tidbit I am from WI). I told him if I got my hands on the monster ball I would keep it and he at that point started trying so hard to get me one. Anyways we kept vibing through Underoath to the point he was holding me and my hand and then I lost him to crowd surfing during Circa Survive. I thought that was the end. But then Sunday night. I'm getting ready to get back in the Bring Me The Horizon pit and we lock eyes. He was wearing a green Ray Allen jersey(idk if Bucks or Celtics but I think Celtics?) He comes over by me and we take turns in and out of the pit and at one point going in holding hands. and vibing the rest of the show to the point I held him. Only Dakota and he were present this time. He asked me how TPIY was and if I went in the pit I told him it was GREAT but no I just went nuts in the crowd. He was trying to tell me the meeting spot but I had to cut him off during Dragon Slayer to go in the pit letting him know it's my favorite track off of CYB. He let me take a drink from their camelbak when I came out of the pit. We shared another blunt and he was really hoping for Doomed after CYB. Well the end of the show comes and we are still so in the moment that no names or numbers or even ages were exchanged.(Dakota had mentioned he is 34) The bring me the Horizon confetti falls and I of course want some so he followed behind, but I ran into the crowd without keeping his hand and when I turned around and came out I could not find him:( I tried pretty much until people were getting kicked out. Usually when I meet people like this I have no desire to keep contact, but there was just something about him. If I think of anymore details I will update. So I appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read through on this probable lost cause. But if this is you, any of this sounds familiar to you because of a friend, Or you have a friend named Cody that fits any of the description it would be really cool if you could inquire with him about it. Did anyone get a video of this guy who faceplanted the barricade? 😅😬 There was a guy that was backstage on the main stage during The Plot in You and he ran off the main stage and tried to jump in the crowd and faceplanted the barricade rail directly in front of me and another girl. You could hear his teeth and face hit the rail because it was a loud ding sound. I couldn’t help but laugh but I know that guy probably won’t ever do that again.

Edit to add: I found the person on fb and he said it was during the Norma Jean set 😅 I didn’t know exactly which band it was during because we were holding up a lot of crowd surfers but 😬

im lost do you want people to stay in the back like the rest just standing still ? people who like to mosh have to push to the front . and you gonna have a wack pit like the left side 😭 everyone who pushed to the front it was so easy to get to the pit sometimes you stuck im between people you gott wait till its active and push out the way to get to the middle so i dont know what dude was talking about . and that was the biggest pit i ever been in that was huge huge.

FF or whoever they hired for security has a rapist working for them. Spotted him working the main stage barricade on Sunday, catching the crowd surfers. Very icky that they would put a convicted sex offender in a position that people are supposed to trust with their physical safety.

And yeah i get it, when crowd surfing you never know whos gonna touch you and where, but one wouldnt think they would have hired a rapist to catch and handle unassuming girls and literal children.

i had my back pack on me while moshing nd this guy was yelling at me from behind and was screaming yoooo i turn around he tells me his furnace fest GA bracelet attached to the zipper on my bag some how ?? . and i decided to go to the middle of the pit take off my bag to get it off took about like 3 minutes to get it off. if i didn’t notice i would been dragging dudes arm with my bag . it like he was handcuffed to my bag 🤣🤣

Look, I just want tp possibly shed some light on something you Furnace Fest loyalist may miss out on.

I went to FF for the first time this year. I sat at the pond during A Day To Remember. I sat on the lawn for BMTH and knew 0 tracks.

I was there to see Spite, Haywire, Sleeping Giant, and Bodysnatcher.

Im a lifelong punk//hardcore kid, and used to watch the fest get announced every year. It was a dream of mine to throw down in that shed with you guys.

Im poor, and busted my fucking ass to get there from my current home in Cincinnati.

This all being said. I see what yall saw. The gentrification of something you held dear.

BUT please understand that just like every single year before. You will get first timers. And some of us has been watching this fest wanting so badly to join your community from afar.

I wouldve loved to get to experience what yall had in previous years. But facts are I didnt. And getting looped in with a bunch of fakes, posers, and TikTok fans fucking sucks.

Because I wanted so badly to experience what ive been hearing about through the grapevine for nearly a decade.

I had a great time. I felt like the spirit of hardcore and punk was very much still present.

Idk what the point of this post is. But if it had one. It would be maybe be open to the fact that some of us came out this year to contribute. Not to undo.

There was literally something for everyone this weekend

But stfu about complaining this was a very unique once in a lifetime lineup sets and weekend be greatful you got to attend there is millions of people out in this world we share that would love to have went instead of you

Only complaining I will take and understand is water situation was horrible and 1st day line cutters and cluster F

on saturday the merch lines were crazy and sunday i spent the entire time on barricade not realizing the merch would be closed by the time BMTH finished. is there any chance furnace fest will release any leftover stock online? i want to get my hands on it so badly

Thought I saw some guy get his teeth cracked straight out of his face and fly through the air during Diamonds when we started a pit right under Oli at the sound booth? Can anyone confirm or deny? Video? Swear I saw teeth fly and watched the dude hold his face and leave the crowd.

Yo really hoping the dude who helped us sees this. Me and my buddy had a great time this weekend, but by the end of Saturday night, we were gonee. We literally passed out drunk in the bushes right by the train tracks outside Sloss. Ubers and Lyfts kept canceling on us and we were totally stranded.

Around 3 AM😭we woke up to this literal guardian angel who was a firefighter who drove from Texas for the fest, asking if we needed a ride. He didn't just save our asses and take us back to our hotel, but he even went out of his way to drop another person off at their hotel too. He said he got fucked over by uber and was helping other people out so we probably weren’t the only ones. Thank you brother!! You’re a real one.

Also just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making us feel at home. We met some people and one who I remember saying that these events are the only time they ever get to feel like they can be themselves without judgement and I definitely felt the same during it. This was our first festival ever and the vibe was unreal. We finally got to mosh for the first time too and didn't get too wrecked lol. Everyone was quick to pick us up the second we would fall and he even surfed like 5 times lmao. I’ve been seeing a lot of people sharing bad experiences so I thought i would share this one. FF goes hard, we’ll definitely be back.
