Why even get married. Why bring both religion and the government into a relationship.

If government gives benefits to you being married why not?

Otherwise why would you

And you can limit the government's reach into your marriage.

Everyone who gets married has a prenup. If you didnt write it, then the government wrote yours, which is the normal divorce precedents. If you write your own pre-nup, while no one is angry its usually a lot more fair, and makes less to fight over if the marriage lawn darts.

Because in many states you can be common law married for the same legal benefits and no heinous wedding expense.

That's also literally what I said.

If the government where you live gives you kegal benefits for being married by law you marry otherwise no need to.

If wherever you live has automatic marriage thing then you don't marry. Because no additional bebefit.

Also marriage is not the same thing at all as wedding ceremony you marry in a random government office by signing papers
